Dawn jolted awake from hearing the continuous knocks on her front door. Scrambling to get off the couch, almost falling due to the blanket that was wrapped around her legs. She cautiously approached the door with confusion and sleep evident in her face.
When she swung open the door, she was greeted by Izuku standing before her with a huge grin on his freckled face. "Zu...?...What are you doing here..?" She questioned yawning afterwards as she tiredly leaned against the door frame.
"I'm sorry for the sudden appearance, I was so excited that I forgot to call but I really wanted you to be the first one to hear the news!" Izuku explained the grin on his face never faltering.
"What news?" Dawn yawned again as she rubbed her eyes to get any remaining sleep out her eyes before looking back at Izuku with a curious gaze.
"Can I tell you inside? I—I don't want your neighbors to get upset from the noise when I tell you." Izuku suggested as he nervously looked around and Dawn rolled her eyes. "Fuck em'." She spat and grabbed Izuku's wrist pulling him inside her home. She check the mailbox and pulled out whatever before slamming the door closed.
"So, what's this news that you're so excited to tell me about?" Dawn asked as she threw the mail onto the small table that was in the living room. She sat down besides Izuku who was already sitting on the couch.
"...I got accepted into U.A.!"
Dawn blinked not once or twice but three times as she processed the news Izuku had just told her. Surely but slowly a huge smile broke out onto her face before she hugged Izuku the both of them falling back onto the couch.
"That's amazing Zu! Congratulations! I told you that you could do it! I'm so proud of you!" Dawn exclaimed as she hugged Izuku tighter, the smile on her face never leaving as her pink eyes sparkled.
Izuku blushed softly from seeing her huge smile and how her pink eyes had sparkled with her smile. To him it felt like he was staring at a goddess.
"...Thank you." Izuku slowly wrapped his arms around her and hugged her back. He stuffed his nose in the crook of her neck, inhaling her scent and sighed in bliss. She smelled like vanilla and he wondered if it was her shampoo or perfume.
"D—did you get accepted?" Izuku asked after a couple minutes and broke the hug quickly after realizing he was hugging her tight as he inhaled her scent. He had kept his hands in his lap nervously fidgeting with his fingers.
"I don't know." Dawn answered flatly and snorted when Izuku looked at her with shock evident all over his face. "What do you mean Dawn? Everyone got one in the mail, did you not check the mail earlier?" Izuku asked and sighed at seeing her shake her head 'no'.
"I just grabbed the mail when you got here. I didn't bother checking it, I just threw it on the table." Dawn reached for the mail rest was on the table and moved the mail that wasn't for her away until her fingers landed onto a circular disk.
"Is this it?" She raised the disk up for Izuku to see and leaned back down on the couch when Izuku nodded his head. "Well let's see what it has to say." Dawn pressed the small button and instantly a holographic image of All Might appeared.
"Hello Young Yoko! It is I! All Might! And I'm here to tell you if you got accepted into U.A. or not! Haha!"
All Might's boisterous voice rang throughout the living room, his usual smile never leaving his face. Dawn's eyes flickered over towards Izuku who was focused on the All Might hologram and she chuckled quietly.
"Based on your amazing performance skills you displayed in the entrance exam, you have showed us you are exactly the type of students we're looking for us to teach and guide. For the entrance exams points were given in two different categories; your actual points you gotten from beating the robots and the other is rescue points." All Might explained and a screen popped up showing everyone's points.
Dawn scanned her eyes up and down the list looking for her name and furrowed her brows when she didn't see it.
"Young Yoko! You have been ranked first place due to having 300 points and 60 rescue points resulting altogether 360 points! Congratulations in getting accepted into U.A.'s hero class, 1-A!"
"..I ranked first place..? Hell yeah!" Dawn pumped her fist into the air and grinned before she hugged Izuku once more. "We're going to U.A. together! As we should!" She broke the hug and held out her pinky to Izuku.
"Promise that we let no one get in our way in achieving our dreams?" She questioned and Izuku nodded as he held out his pinky. "I promise." He smiled as they looped pinkies sealing their promise.
"Good. Anyways, are ya hungry? My mom wanted to cook a Sunday dinner so it's a lot of food." Dawn stood up from the couch and walked into the kitchen.
"Did she make baked mac n' cheese?" Izuku followed after Dawn into the kitchen and his face lit up seeing the various pans of food.
"Duh, my mom will never forget to cook that but here. Make ya self a plate." Dawn handed him a plastic plate to which he took before she headed to sit at the kitchen island.
"Is it just you here?"
"No, the twins stayed while my parents went somewhere. The twins are sleeping hence why it's so quiet at the moment." Dawn answered and pulled out her phone that was in her pocket to scroll mindlessly through social media as Izuku fixed himself a plate.
Dawn looked past her phone screen and towards Izuku who sat down across from her before her eyes shifted down to his plate of food. "Don't get mad at me if you end up falling asleep from eating. This is soul food, that shit puts your soul to sleep." Dawn warned causing Izuku to laugh.
"I'll keep that in mind." He said with another laugh before he began to eat. Dawn turned back to her phone as both of them didn't seem to mind the silence that was bestowed on them.
