Side Note: Keith and Matt are already engaged. They're having a long engagement since they're slowly saving up for a wedding. And they're also waiting for teddy to be a little bit older so he could act Matt's best man while Katie acts as Keith's best man. They want Teddy to be old enough to remember the wedding and his big role in it instead of only knowing it through photos. Also, I won't be calling them as fiancé/fiancé's. They were their engaged rings but don't make a big show over it. They stick to calling the other as boyfriend, lover, partner, soulmate and other half instead. The pair of them got engaged just over a year ago. Long before Katie started the whole "flashback" story.

"When you asked if I needed any help, I expected you to be the one to help me?" Takashi speaks up as he drops another concrete slab down in the centre of his half of the garden. All together he had twenty-five slabs to place down, putting them in rows of five to build up a large square.
"She doesn't do exercise. Trust me, I've been dealing with her laziness since she was born. She learnt to walk before she crawled so she didn't have use so many limbs" Matt sighs as he places down the slab he was carrying over, rolling his eyes as he knew his sister wouldn't be any help.
"You didn't" Takashi gassed back, both shocked and amused by the news.
"Oh, she did. Matt hasn't stopped complaining about it since" Keith smirked back as he walked over, grabbing the last slab from the ground and shaking his head fondly over the two siblings.
"How did you two become friends? If you don't mind me asking" Takashi asked as he watches Keith place the last slab down, building the squared makeshift court.
"High school. Keith might be a year older but we got along rather well. Been friends ever since. Been family ever since" Katie anwsered from where she sat cross-legged on the grass, reading through the instruction for the basketball hoop. They held two, a normal size one and a tiny kids one, planned so Takashi could play fairly with his daughters.
"Got along better when I saw her brother pick her up once. It was love at first sight for me. That dork took years to feel the same though" Keith confessed without any shame since he'd never shy away from showing his love or affection for his soulmate. He'd simply get embarrassed and murder his lover if he tries to publicly show it back.
"How many times do you want me to apologize for not falling for you the first time I laid my eyes on you? I'm older, you were just some teen student who was friend's with my baby sister. I would have ended up in jail if I did gain a crush on you so early on" Matt huffed back like a tired parent as he stands with his hands on his hips, already use to this argument being thrown about so many times between them.
"Older? You're older. You look around my age" Takashi blurted out in shock, not expecting the suddenly age drop. Matt even looks younger than he is if he's honest.
"I'm seven years older than my sister. Six years older than my grumps of a soulmate over there. I look rather young for my age, I know. Always been called a baby face" Matt mumbled back rather unbothered since he was used to such a reaction by now.
"And you'll always stay handsome to me even when you do start growing white hairs" Keith promised without much thought as they both squatted down beside Katie, looking over the instruction book for the adult basketball hoop.
