PROLOGUE
Here In My Mind

The stars never whispered her name, they never once called for her. Tavia's heart and soul belonged to the ground, the grass, dirt, and ocean, never the skies above. Perhaps that was the reason why she never left Alderaan, or maybe because she didn't feel the need to.

Tavia hid herself within the tall trees. As long as she stayed up there, she wouldn't be found, she wouldn't get caught, she was safe. She could feel her chest tightening, her heart started to pound in her chest. There were tiny specs of dirt on her fingertips. She rolled her thumb on top of her index finger, playing with the dirt.

Her life was fine without the expectations of being a Jedi, she didn't want to find out the truth. She knew that they'd try to see if there were any force users on each planet, but she didn't want a part in it. Tavia didn't need to know. All she needed was to be back home, safe, with her mother and father.

Eventually, she saw the group of Jedi leave, to which she snuck back home. The hood of her cloak hid her face. Then she saw it. She couldn't be certain it was the Jedis that did it, but it left a scar right through her heart. The two bodies. Her mother, her father laid dead on the floor, surrounded and covered in their own blood. Her stomach dropped. What remained of her small appetite was gone.

Tavia grabbed the small bag of items that were packed for emergencies, ran out of her family home, and into the busy streets. Her family lived just outside of the town, they couldn't afford to stay in town. She was running so fast, everything was a blurry haze. Tavia was alone. She had nobody to comfort and console her. That was until she ran into a boy, a few years older than herself.

"Are you alright?" He asked her. She then recognised him as Bail Organa.

"I'm fine—"

"Here, come with me... you look like you are in need of shelter, food... you'll stay with me and my family."

"You don't even know me... I could be a murderer for all you know." Tavia told him.

Reluctantly, Tavia followed him back to his family home. It looked much larger than hers, more details laced with gold. Her eyes widened at the interior when she walked in. It was almost pure white, which in her opinion, made it look strange, but it was shelter.

Somehow it bothered her that it rarely rained. She used to have hope that there'd be raindrops falling from the bright skies, turning the blue to grey.

5 YEARS LATER

Years gone by, Tavia Fairelon became the protector of Bail Organa. Even though she was young, she was strong enough to protect him. As her life moved on, training grew more intense. She became a fighter, a warrior.

Tavia wasn't an idiot, she knew it was a distraction for herself. She erased the hurt of losing her parents from her mind. Cold took over her natural warm path, fire had scorned her skin, and her bones were covered by dirt and tar.

Tavia Fairelon was a fighter, one who believed that she was unworthy of love. Stories filled her mind, afterall, fighters were never rewarded with love. And there was no use, she was sworn to protect Bail Organa, she saw no need of love, and it wasn't like she'd be leaving Alderaan.
