CHAPTER EIGHT
Kenobi?

It had been a long few years since Tavia had returned to Coruscant. While she was grateful to be off of Alderaan for a short while, she did miss it dearly.

When Tavia saw a familiar face with blonde hair stepping out of a different ship, she smiled slightly. "Scar Kope." Tavia mused loudly.

The blonde pilot smiled fondly back at her. "Tavia, you look well." Scar said, looking at the other woman up and down. "You're here to protect her too?"

"Yes."

"Well with both of us here now, Padmé should be safe for a while." Scar told her. The pair started walking toward the building and noticed the one they were both there to protect.

"Long time no see, your highness. Or should I say senator?" Scar greeted. Padmé turned around, smiling when she saw both Tavia and Scar standing there.

"Scar? Tavia?"

"The only ones." Scar replied.

Padmé walked closer to Scar, wrapping her into a loose hug. Then she hugged Tavia. "Scar, how was your trip to Mandalore? And Tavia, how's Alderaan? I haven't visited in a long time." Padmé wondered.

"Alderaan's the same as it always is: crowded with people." Tavia answered. She furiously wiped the large group of hair strands from her face as it kept blocking part of her view.

"Mandalore was okay. I did a few things for Duchess Satine and I'm here because I heard about the vote and how you were in possible danger." Scar told her, almost in a scolding tone.

"We should get going, we do not want to be late." Padmé told them.

"Where exactly are we going?" Tavia questioned, not having heard any plans from Bail.

"You'll see."

As they entered the building, they were joined by a group. Tavia only recognised some of them, some were still unknown to her. Naturally, her shoulders sunk and tried to simply blend in. The second she saw the company she was in, the Jedi, she had a sneaky suspicion on what this was about.

"Senator Amidala, your tragedy on the landing platform, terrible. Seeing you alive brings warm feelings to my heart." Master Yoda told The Senator.

Tavia's eyes widened partially as she heard the news, as did Scar's.

"Do you have any idea who was behind this attack?" Padmé wondered.

Tavia's eyes wandered to Palpatine and she narrowed her eyes as she looked at him.

"Our intelligence points to disgruntled spice miners on the moons of Naboo." Master Windu informed.

"I think that Count Dooku was behind it." Padmé stated.

"He is a political idealist, not a murderer."

"Could be the same thing." Tavia muttered.

"Excuse me?" The same Jedi asked, confused.

"Just because someone is a political idealist doesn't mean they're not a murderer. Some people are very extreme." Tavia told him.

"You know, m'lady, Count Dooku was once a Jedi. He couldn't assassinate anyone. It's not in his character." Master Windu told Padmé.

"It still doesn't physically stop someone from murder." Tavia whispered.

"But for certain, Senator, in grave danger you are."

"Master Jedi, may I suggest the senator be placed under the protection of your graces?" Palpatine suggested.

Tavia didn't know when Bail had gotten there. She probably should have known, but she was a little too caught up with seeing Scar and Padmé.

"Do you really think that's a wise decision under these stressful times?" Bail asked.

"Chancellor, if I may comment, I do not believe—" Padmé started.

Tavia and Scar were both glaring daggers at Palpatine. "The situation is that serious? No, but I do, Senator. I realise all too well that additional security might be disruptive for you, but perhaps someone you're familiar with. An old friend, like Master Kenobi." Palpatine explained.

Tavia's facial expression softened the second she heard the name.

"That's possible. He's just returned from a border dispute on Ansion." Master Windu told Palpatine.

"Do it for me, m'lady. Please? The thought of losing you is unbearable."

Padmé looked at Tavia for a response. Tavia just kept looking forward.

"I will have Obi-Wan report to you immediately, m'lady."

"Thank you, Master Windu."

Everyone started leaving the room and Tavia found an empty and almost abandoned training room. She sighed as she took out what looked like a small baton from her tool belt.

Tavia closed her eyes as she whoosh sound rang through her ears. She opened them again and stared at the orange light that ignited from the lightsaber. Tavia twirled the handle of the weapon in her hand as she moved around the room. She closed her eyes again after she found the robot that would randomly shoot lasers at the player. Tavia dodged each blast and she was too focused on the robot to notice an old friend watching from afar with a smile.

She had her back turned to him as she opened her eyes and shut the robot's power off and set it to the side. Tavia furrowed her brows when she heard clapping, so she turned around.

"It's been a while, Via." Obi-Wan mused.

She just stared in shock. "Kenobi?" She whispered.
