CHAPTER NINE
I Believe I Can Fly-

Tavia stood to the right of Padmé while Scar was off to the side of the room, leaning against a wall, awaiting the other's arrivals. They all stared outside the large window in an uncomfortable silence.

"Senator Padmé! Mesa palos here! Lookie, lookie, Senator." Jar Jar announced as the Jedi walked in. "Desa Jedi arriven."

Tavia noticed how Scar pushed herself off the comfort of the wall when she saw Lennox. Tavia would have teased her about it, but then she saw Obi-Wan staring at her. The only reason he took his eyes off of her was because Padmé approached him, Lennox, and Anakin. "It's a great pleasure to see you again, milady." Obi-Wan said to Padmé, shaking her hand. But he'd glance at Tavia ever so often as he did so.

"It has been far too long, Master Kenobi." Padmé replied, then she noticed Anakin. "Ani?"

Then Tavia heard Scar say Lennox's name.

"My goodness, you've grown." The Senator realised.

"So have you. Grown more beautiful, I mean. Well, f-for a senator, I mean." Anakin stammered. Obi-Wan, Tavia, Lennox, and Scar all let out a deep sigh, looking away.

"Tavia." Obi-Wan greeted for the second time.

"Kenobi." She responded as she followed the Senator to sit on the sofa.

A small smile appeared on Obi-Wan's lips, then he focused his attention on the task. "Our presence here will be invisible, milady. I can assure you."

"Odd considering the last time you were supposed to protect her by laying low, you were all very visible." Tavia sassed, making Padmé send a disapproving look in her direction.

"I'm Captain Typho of Her Majesty's security service. Queen Jamillia has been informed of your assignment. I am grateful you are here, Master Kenobi. The situation is more dangerous than the senator will admit." He introduced.

"I don't need more security. I need answers. I want to know who's trying to kill me." Padmé stated firmly.

Obi-Wan looked at her, "we are here to protect you, Senator, not to start an investigation."

"If you want, I will start an investigation." Tavia piped up.

"Master Yoda—"

"I am not a Jedi, I do not answer the council and their demands." Tavia told Obi-Wan, "I am able to start an investigation if I should so choose."

"We will find out who's trying to kill you, Padmé." Anakin carried on. But it turned into a large argument between both Jedi. Tavia, Scar, and Lennox all let out a long groan.

Scar turned to look at both Tavia and Padmé and mouthed 'why them'. Both Padmé and Tavia shrugged in response.

"Perhaps with merely your presence... the mystery surrounding this threat will be revealed. Now, if you'll excuse me," she said, standing up, "I will retire."

Tavia walked into the corridor, away from the group. A few minutes passed by and she sensed someone walking up to stand beside her. She looked to her left and saw Obi-Wan standing there, facing her, so she turned around to face him, leaning her side against the wall. "Long time no see, besides the training room obviously." Tavia mused.

He smiled at her. "You haven't changed at all. Besides the fact that you use a lightsaber now..."

"I found it."

"Really?" He questioned, raising his eyebrows.

"I'm not a Jedi. And what about you? You've changed, your hair is longer, you have a short beard now." Tavia noticed.

"Yes, well... it doesn't look that terrible, does it?"

"It's not the worst style in the galaxy." Tavia assured him.

Anakin watched from the other room, noticing a spark between Obi-Wan and Tavia. But he ignored it, he'd just annoy Obi-Wan about it later.

Night became of the planet and Tavia stood guard outside of Padmé's room. She fiddled with the blade in her hand, then she tucked it behind her ear. She looked at the door and furrowed her brows, sensing something. She ran into the room and weird bug things and she was quickly followed into the room by the Jedi and Scar. Tavia threw one of her blades from her pocket at one of the bugs and cut it in half while Anakin jumped onto the bed and cut the other one in half, startling Padmé, causing her to wake up.

Both Tavia and Obi-Wan turned and saw a flight droid outside the window. They looked at each other quickly and Obi-Wan sprung himself out of the window and held onto the droid for dear life. Tavia jumped out of the window too.

And Tavia just being completely ready to start an investigation right away
