I hope that when it is my time to go,
I can smile and say goodbye.
Like an actress on a pageant ramp,
Waving without care.
I don't want to look back,
And remember all that I did wrong.
I don't want to cling onto,
All the merry moments of this life.
When it's time to move on,
I just want to let go of it all.
To close my eyes and let the dark,
Claim me as one of its own.
I wish not to be afraid when it is time to go,
May I hold its hands as it reckons me with its song.
The dark is perfect, lovely, and serene,
And I have kept all the promises made.
What do I have to fear from it?
It has been my friend for so long.
