Ije was walking out of the hospital, she walked to the drive where she parked her car. She entered it and drove home.
Sinachi opened the gate for her. "Welcome ma" she stated.
Ije gave her a nonchalant nod and entered inside the house. She wanted to leave but she was reluctant, something was holding her back and she couldn't fathom what it was.
She had finished packing her things into her bag then she sat in their bedroom, her eyes darting round the room.
The door opened and Nedu stepped in , he was in clean shirts and shorts.
Her mouth dropped open.
He chuckled. "I'm really sorry for all the pain I've caused you, I don't have anything to do with Paula. You have to believe me"
"I.... I'm... Trying" she stuttered.
"Ijeoma, I love you... I really do"
She was silent.
"I didn't plan for this marriage to be like this.... So many up and downs just in our first year"
Ije threw her face away to her luggage and stood by the corner.
Nedu's eyes followed her. "You are leaving?"
"I can't tolerate all this" she muttered.
"We vowed to be with each other for better or for worse....."
"Until death do us apart... I've heard that a million times and death is knocking at my door, the pregnancy and your girlfriend, Paula"
Nedu swallowed hard.
"I just want to be away for a while" she said.
"How long?"
"I don't know" Ije exhaled. "I'm so sorry"
"At least, don't carry all your things, leave some here so that I'll know you are coming back" he sounded pathetic as he limped towards her luggage.
Ije rose and kissed him on the lips. Nedu pulled her to an embrace.
"It's for the best, I have to keep myself and our baby away from Paula... I'll call you every day"
Nedu nodded. "At least, tell me where you will stay"
"I'm going to Anulika's house"
They embraced agin before Ije carried her bag, got into her car and drove out.
Nedu punched the wall with a stifled scream.

Anulika hugged Ije. "Welcome dear, how's Nedu?"
"He's fine" she murmured. "Can I stay for the night?"
"Of course... Ladies night!!!"
Ije rolled her eyes . "Let me rephrase that.... Can I stay for a couple of days?"
"Okay, what happened?" Anulika pulled her to the sitting room.
Ije was about to speak then her hands flew to her mouth, she rushed to the guest sink just beside the parlor and threw up.
Anulika rubbed her back. "Sorry"
Ije turned on the tap and rinsed her mouth, her hands trembling. "It's been a while since I threw up, I thought it had faded"
"It has faded of course" Anulika said.
Ije sighed. "Please, just show me where I'll stay for the night, I don't have the strength to talk right now"

"She left?" Lotanna asked. A mixture of anger and surprise on his face.
"It's for the best" Nedu said with a smile.
"It's for the best and you are drunk?"
"Lotanna, let me be"
"I cannot let you be! You discharged yourself, you have not finished your medication"
"I am very much aware" Nedu glared at him.
"What is wrong with you?" Lotanna shouted angrily. "Papa is in my house asking me heavenly questions on when you will be back and you are here.... Drinking"
Nedu laughed.
"What is funny?"
"You are funny"
"Listen, drinking will not solve your shit with Paula... Go and talk to the police!"
"Which police? Which yeye police is that one?"
Lotanna kept quiet. Nedu hisses and entered his room.

Paula pushed Sinachi aside. "Maybe you should know by now, that I'm not a visitor in this house anymore"
Sinachi glared at her.
"Where is your oga, abeg?"
"I no know, use your hand find am" she replied rudely.
Paula slapped her across the face. "I'm not Ije, if you speak anyhow to me, I'll send you packing"
Sinachi laughed. "I fear aunty Ije pass you... You wan use JuJu steal someone's husband"
Paula smiled. "Local fool, I won't belittle myself to use JuJu" she turned around slowly with a seductive smile. "As you can see, I'm too pretty to be ignored"
Sinachi said nothing.
Paula laughed. "Good riddance"
She climbed up the stairs to Nedu's room. She opened the door to see him lying down.
"Hey hubby"
"Hey" he murmured.
"Where's your other wife?" She smirked.
"I sent her packing"
Paula burst into laughter and sat on the bed beside him. "That's why I like you... You listen to instructions all the time"
He was silent.
She tried to kiss him and he pushed her off the bed. "Leave my house"
"What?" Paula frowned.
"One more word and I'll strangle you"
Paula was shocked to the bones. "But this was our plan, hubby"
"You are very insane to call me that name... Paula, get out of my house this instant!"
She sighed and stood up. "You hate good things, I love you Nedu"
"Trying loving Jesus more then come for me" he spat.
Paula chuckled. "You make things harder than they are...." She raised her gown and pulled out a gun from the short she wore inside.
Nedu froze in fear.
"One more harsh word and I'll have your brains flying"
"The neighbors will definitely hear the gunshot"
"I'll love to die with you so that we will go to the world beyond... Together"
".... Paula is a psycho"
"What do you want?" He asked.
"I want You" she replied quietly edging towards him.
Kasala has burst o.
She wants him. "Ochimoooo"
