"What? What do you mean? Why would StarClan send such an omen?" wailed Graywind.
"It could be any of us!"
"What if it's me?"
"I don't want to die!"
"Did StarClan mention anyone specific?" inquired Talonswipe, one of the senior warriors.
"No, they didn't," replied Treepool, but without meeting his eyes.
"What if it's me? My poor kits!" shrieked Blueflower, Featherkit's mother, and curled her tail around her kits.
"SILENCE!" yowled Stormstar. "We can't go on like this. Maybe, the omen meant that a cat outside the Clan will die unexpectedly?" Blueflower and her brother, Rainheart, exchanged a doubtful glance, but didn't say anything. Even though they were his littermates, they wouldn't dream of challenging Stormstar.
"Let's just all forget about this and get on with our lives," Stormstar finished. He signalled with his tail that he was finished speaking.
The rest of the Clan seemed to have calmed down, and just as Moonkit was about to ask Shellfur, one of the elders to tell him a story, Echoheart burst out of the nursery looking terrified.
"Kits! Kits! Where are- there you are! Where have you been! I was worried sick!" she then started licking him and his littermates all over.
"Mom! We just went to see the badger!" exclaimed Larkkit, clearly exasperated.
"BADGER!? Where?!" Echoheart instinctively shoved her kits behind her.
"Don't worry Echoheart. The badger is dead. Badgerfur brought it back from his patrol," Tigerkit soothed his mother.
"Your father is very brave, kits. He'll make a great leader one day," Echoheart purred, her eyes glowing with affection.
"Yeah, and then Treepool said something about an omen, and that someone was going to die, but then Stormstar said it's probably just a rogue or some cat that will die," Moonkit told his mother.
"Great StarClan! I hope so. Now let's get you three back to the nursery," said Echoheart. As they were turning around, the hunting patrol arrived. Lightpaw, Meadowpaw, Swiftfire and Milkswirl were each carrying fresh-kill.
Larkkit sighed, "I can't wait to be an apprentice."
Echoheart smiled. "Don't worry, you're five moons old now, so it won't be long till you're apprenticed, darling. You'll all be great warriors, just like your father."
Moonkit puffed out his chest. I'll make my father proud, he thought. Maybe, just maybe, he'll choose me as deputy when he becomes leader.
"Come, darlings," his mother said as she licked him on the moon-shaped mark on his cheek, "It's feeding time."
All worries about the omen were forgotten. At least for a while.

RandomOkay, this is my first story, so don't judge. It's also probably retarded. It's about a cat from SkyClan who has to go on a dangerous journey. If you have any helpful comments, please put them down! Enjoy! :-)
