When Moonpaw woke up again, he instantly remembered his dream. Moonpaw wasn't stupid. He knew he had just received a prophecy from StarClan. He just didn't know what it meant, and this frustrated him. Stormstar asked him if he would like to stay in camp today, but Moonpaw replied that he would rather go training. It would help him forget about his father.
He was about to leave the gorge, when Treepool stopped him.
"Moonpaw," she gasped, "Did you have a dream last night? But not a normal dream..."
Moonpaw decided to be honest with her.
"Yes, I did. A cat named Cloudstar came to me and said something about how a moon will always shine light on shadow..." Moonpaw couldn't remember that part clearly. He continued, "And he said:' Remember: StarClan will always be there to give you strength to leap like a Tiger, to storm as though you are no lighter than a feather, and to run faster than a Blizzard.'" he finished.
"It's a prophecy," Treepool said. "About you. You are the Moon. And the other bit... about StarClan..." Moonpaw could see she was thinking hard. Her black and brown pelt was bristling, and her blue eye and green eye were focused on something in the distance.
"Did...did you have a dream Treepool?" Moonpaw asked.
"Yes. I saw four grown cats, and four apprentices. First they were travelling. Then they were walking alongside the shore of a lake...then they were walking through a pine forest... I could see cats lurking in the shadows...and then... I saw blood... and a river. In the river, I could see the reflection of a leaf blowing in the wind, and I heard a clap of thunder." Treepool looked far away, as if still in a dream.
"What could it mean?" asked Moonpaw.
"I don't know, but StarClan will reveal it soon." she answered.
"Now, go. I believe your mentor is waiting for you."
