Chapter 4:Big fish in a small pond

The earth sank into the ground, an exit was formed from the ground and 2 figures exited from the hole that was created.

Amelia dusted off the earth that stuck on her clothes. "You got my clothes dirty!"

"Why not wear your divine raiment." Aiden replied.

Amelia got irritated. "I... was going to do that." In a flash, Amelia's outfit changed, she was now wearing a huge light brown overcoat, white shirt with a tie, and a checkered skirt. A watch hung on her waist, showing a time that wasn't accurate.

"Looking good aren't I?" Amelia asked Aiden but he simply kept walking, seemingly uninterested by her transformation.

"I feel something underneath... 12 kilometeres underground." Aiden said as he touched the ground..

Amelia was distracted by the view instead. "The sea looks really nice, I could go for a swim after we finish the job."

Aiden pretended that he heard nothing. "Let's go."

Amelia stood next to him and the ground sank with Amelia and Aiden at the center. The more they went into the ground the temperature dropped, but after some time it started getting hotter and hotter.

"Ha......Ha......How long is it going to take?" Amelia was drenched in sweat thanks to her divine raiment.

"We're almost there." Aiden had beads of sweat dripping from his chin.

The tunnel came to an end, and the both of them landed on a concrete surface. Aiden placed his hand onto the concrete and closed his eyes.

"This facility has the same structure as the one you were trapped in. The entire building is secured on a hook, if anything happens it would break and the building will fall deeper into the hole. It will crush itself by its own weight upon landing. Our target is 26 floors away from where we are." Aiden claimed.

"So what are we waiting for?" Amelia asked.

"We're gonna wait for the people to evacuate." Aiden answered.

"And why would they?" Amelia was confused

"By doing this" The ground started to shake after Aiden finished his sentence.

Amelia was startled and lost her balance. He fell onto Aiden and yelled at him. "Maybe giving me a heads up next time would be nice?"

"I can't hear you over the sound of the earthquake!" Aiden cheekily responded.

After 2 hours, the people had successfully evacuated from the facility. The earthquake stopped, and Aiden started closing off all the exits and entry points into the facility. Aiden and Amelia managed to enter the facility after breaking down the concrete walls.

The facility changed to its emergency power system, making the corridors to be dimly lit. They reached the 26th floor and found a doorway that was sealed. The words plastered across the door said: SHRINE 01. Aiden tore down the door and entered into the room, it had the same design as the one Amelia was trapped in, but at the center was a cylindrical tube filled with water.

At the center of the tube was a small naked human girl with white hair, clear crystal blue eyes and the shocking part is a tail of a shark attached to her tailbone.

"No way..." Aiden was overwhelmed by what he saw.

Amelia on the other hand was ecstatic. "Oh~ come here you little cutie." Amelia ran towards the glass and tried to get the attention of the small girl in the tank.

Aiden was still in shock, he saw a document scattered around the floor where he was standing. "Project Myth, specimen G²"

"Yes, come to me~" Amelia was tapping at the glass to get her attention. The girl in the tank hugged her own tail while she timidly swam towards Amelia

Aiden flipped through any documents he could find in hopes that he was wrong. After an hour of searching he finally found something.

"The carcasses of the grand leviathan, found in the south pole... Its DNA made into a new vessel... that means..."

"She's a primordial pseudo god." Amelia answered while she was playing with the girl in the tank. The girl warmed up to her and she is now rolling in the water following Amelia's finger.

"The very first creatures that are made from the book of creation, they existed before the word god was created." Amelia followed up.

"I need some air." Aiden went out of the room leaving Amelia alone with the girl.

Aiden walked around the floor and got himself a drink from a vending machine. He sat down on a chair and regretted taking on the job.

"What's wrong" an angelic voice rang in Aiden's ears.

"Everything... Everything is wrong...". Aiden responded.

"Do you...hate her?" the voice asked gently.

"No, I hate myself." Aiden said.

"Why?" The angelic voice asked.

"It's because we're incompetent, so the people of this world had to resort making something like this." Aiden answered.

The voice spoke softly. "And you can correct it, can't you?"

Aiden came to a realization. "Maybe I do..."

—------------------------------------------------------------

Aiden came back to the room and asked Amelia a question. "Can she talk?"

"I'm afraid not, she hasn't said anything besides 'Gawr'." Amelia responded.

"Can you make her stick to the glass?" Aiden spoke.

"Sure?..." Amelia was weirded by that line of questioning but she decided to do so anyway.

The girl was distracted by Amelia and had a big smile, seemingly enjoying her company.

Aiden on the other hand started chanting while putting his finger directed at the girl's forehead.

"God of Communion, lend your strength to grant them knowledge, and grant her speech."

The girl in the aquarium felt a sudden shock on her forehead. She backed off from the glass and swam backwards until she hit the glass on her back.

"OW OW OW OW, What was that?" And the little girl spoke as both of her hands caressed her forehead.
