Chapter 7- Sink or swim

"Gura! Wake up! " an angelic voice called out.

The voice called her again "Gura!" she sprung up immediately but she hit something soft on her face that spring her back to her original position.

"Gura! You finally woke up!" Ame yelled and hugged her excitedly in her bosom.

Gura was in bliss "Booba!"

It took her a few seconds to realize, "Wait... Where am I?" she asked Ame.

Ame answered, "This is the world outside Gura." Gura looked up to see the clear blue skies and a flight of seagulls flying from above.

"How is water floating in the sky?" Gura reached out to the clouds and tried to move them. Rumbling of thunder could be heard and a lightning bolt struck a nearby tree.

"Heeeeeeee!" Gura jumped onto Ame while holding her tail after witnessing lightning for the first time.

"Calm down Gura, that's just lightning." Ame pampered her.

"*Hick* I wanna go home" Gura started crying.

Aiden cut into the conversation, "It's gone, we destroyed it."

After Gura heard Aiden she began to bawl her eyes out "You meanie! Why did you take away my home!" she fails her limbs to get down from Ame's embrace.

"I HATE YOU!" She then ran away.

"Just focus on your stuff, I'll go get her." Ame followed right behind her.

Aiden looked at the horizon. There is not a single drop of water to be seen all the way into the distance.

The angelic voice then spoke "How bad is it?".

Aiden responded, "Catastrophic."

"You can't stop it?"

Aiden sat down on the ground. "Not if I'm alone."

"I could feel it from here, when this thing hit us, the entire continent would be wiped off the map." Aiden added.

The voice probed him. "So you needed her, didn't you?"

"She's still trapped in her own cage, We need more time," he said.

The voice asked in concern,"About Amelia.... Do you trust her?"

Aiden paused for a second and answered "She's sketchy... but I trust her."

"If you say so." The voice said.

Not knowing how long she had run, Gura drew water from a pond to form a pool of water in a cylindrical shape just like her tank.

Ame came into her sight. "...Gura, you can't hide anymore. You can't go back to where things used to be."

Gura pretended that she couldn't listen to her by covering her ears while shaking her head.

Ame tried to reach out to her by stretching her hand into the water. "It's okay, so come with me."

Gura bit Ame's hand, she felt her teeth sank into her flesh. Despite the pain, Amelia pulled Gura out of the water tank she created by force.

"You may give up on your freedom, but I will always be there to pull you out!" Ame told Gura.

Gura's face was a mess, tears and snot was flowing down her face which made Ame's heart sank.

"You took away everything from me..." Gura spoke with difficulty as she sobbed.
