Chapter 5: Reflect
"Can you understand me?" Aiden spoke to the girl in the tank.
The girl curled into a ball by hugging her tail to cover her face, ignoring him.
"Look, you're scaring her," Amelia said.
Amelia went to a control panel on the other side of the tank and pressed a few buttons.
Shrimps started falling into the tank, the girl reacted to the smell of her prey and started feasting on them.
"What are you doing?" Aiden asked.
Amelia handed a small file to Aiden, he opened the file and read the title on it "Instruction manual for specimen G²?"
"You're welcome." Ame went outside of the room leaving Aiden alone with the girl.
Aiden went through the manual and readied himself to converse with her.
The girl finished eating the shrimps in her tank and released a long burp. Aiden took a step closer to her, the girl noticed him and went into her fetal position by hugging onto her tail.
Aiden took a step back, the girl stole a glance at him and hid herself behind her tail quickly.
"My name is Aiden, can I ask you some questions?" Aiden asked the girl.
The girl was startled as her whole body shook after hearing Aiden's words. She peeped at him and replied timidly."Yes...?"
Aiden continued, "Do you have a name?"
"...Gawr...Gura...,just Gura would do..."
"Gura..., I am here to save you as per my client's request. Can you back off the glass for a second so that I can break it?"
Aiden took a step back and materialized the same staff he used to free Amelia. As he was preparing to launch it at the tank, Gura started yelling at him.
"NONONO! DON'T!" Gura held both of her hands out trying to stop him.
Aiden stopped and was befuddled by her request, "What's wrong?"
"I don't need to get out, I'm fine, I'm comfortable here and I definitely don't need to be freed." Gura responded.
Aiden became slightly angry "They trapped you here for centuries, and yet you still want to stay in here?"
Gura hugged her own tail again and spoke meekly, "...It's the only place I knew, the world outside is scary... I could feel a large body of water just out there... rumbling and tumbling. Unlike the still water in here."
"You call this cell your home?" Aiden felt his heart ache.
"I just want to live here... peacefully.."Gura added.
"This isn't gonna work." Aiden muttered as he turned around to leave the room.
"WAIT!" Gura yelled as she swam towards the glass and placed both her hands on the glass
Aiden turned back to see what her deal was.
"Can you not leave me alone?... Please?." Gura said in a pleading manner.
Seeing this, Aiden let out a sigh and sat on a chair.
Gura's face turned into a bright smile showing her jagged shark teeth, she swam in the tank happily for the next few hours.

Amelia played around with Gura for the next few days. They bonded together after enjoying each other's company.
Aiden on the other hand simply observed them as he flipped through the pages of the instruction manual.
He looked at the time, it's almost 4 p.m. and that's the time for Gura's afternoon nap. Gura yawned and felt drowsy.
"I'll take a nap now, Ame, can you promise to be there for me when I wake up? " Gura asked Amelia as she looked into her eyes.
Ame stared at her blue eyes and answered her with a smile, "Sure thing, I'll be here."
Gura rested herself on the bottom of the tank and curled into a ball. After 2 minutes, she started snoring loudly. Aiden stood up from his chair and tossed the instruction manual aside.
"...Amelia, we need to talk." Aiden spoke firmly.
Amelia glanced at Aiden and then shifted her focus onto the sleeping Gura."Sure... but I need to get back before she wakes up."
"It'll only take a while." Aiden persuaded her and started walking towards the exit. Amelia followed after him until he stopped at the corridor outside the room.
"What's wrong?" Ame asked.
"I found a way." Aiden answered.
Amelia smiled "And you need my help?"
Aiden nodded his head
Amelia smiled in an endearing way "But I'm your client. So, if you absolutely need my help, I need you to do something in return."
"And what would that be?" Aiden asked her.
"...Call me, Ame" Amelia voiced her request.
Aiden rolled his eyes and accepted her request "Fine, Ame."
—-------------------------------------------------------------
Gura had a dream, a dream of experiencing the world outside, to conquer the waves and split the sea. She had lots of fun until she heard an angelic voice called out to her.
"Wake up gura, it's time..."
Gura woke up from her slumber to see Ame and Aiden standing together as if they're waiting for her to wake up. She felt that the atmosphere was a little strange, therefore Gura decided to probe them.
"Is something wrong?" Gura asked.
Ame looked sad, "...We're leaving, Gura."
"NO! Don't leave me" Gura pleaded.
"We already set up the auto feeder, your food would last around 5 to 7 years" Aiden told her.
Chills creeped up to Gura, "YOU ARE GOING TO LEAVE ME HERE ALONE FOR THE NEXT 5 YEARS?"
Ame placed her hand on the tank. "Goodbye Gura..."
She turned around and left before Gura could respond.
Gura looked at Aiden with an expression riddled in fear. Aiden held up a remote and the light in the room was extinguished. Gura is left alone in the lit up tank with just her own reflection.
She saw her own figure from her reflection and she shied away from it.
"Are you so scared to see me?" Gura heard her own voice.
The girl was overwhelmed, she responded to her own voice. "Get away from me!"
In her own voice she heard it responded "Poor little fish, consumed by fear. Can't even face your own reflection."
Gura peeked at her own visage and saw herself. However, her reflection had red strands of hair and eyes that shined like red rubies.
"What do you want from me?" Gura sobbed.
"Hand over your control and I can make them stay with you as long as you want." The reflection offered her a deal with a sinister smile.
