(Y/n) Pov - Early May

I hum along to the shanty as I read:

I'll tell you a tale of Vampirates,
A tale as old as true.
Yea, I'll sing you a song of an ancient ship,
And it's mighty fearsome crew.
Yea, I'll sing you a song of an ancient ship
That a sails the ocean blue...
That haunts the ocean blue.

I adjust my position on the couch, getting more comfortable as I continue reading. I tend to spend most of my days in the library, when Aizawa is busy that is. Shouta Aizawa, my father's advisor, I wish he would have been my dad. He's busy a lot, and often tired, but at least he spends time with me, and makes an effort to make me feel happy and loved.

The Vampirate ship has tattered sails
That flap like wings in flight.
They say that the captain, he wears a veil
So as to curtail your fright
At his death-pale skin
And his lifeless eyes
And his teeth as sharp as night.
Oh, they say that the captain, he wears a veil
And his eyes never see the light.

I pause upon hearing the library door open, looking up to see my maid and friend Tsuyu Asui standing in the doorway. She has her long, dark green hair up in a ponytail today, it looks good on her. I smile knowing she's taking my advice, it doesn't last long though as I notice her rather worried expression.
"What did he do this time Tsu?" I sigh, referring to my father as I stand up and close my book, not bothering to mark my place, I'll remember next time I open it.
She closes the door behind her and I think I see her gulp slightly. "I can't say," she says with her head down, staring at the soft carpet floor of the grand library.
"Alright then, I can't say I'm not disappointed, but I don't want to get you into any trouble, so I won't pry. Is there anything else Tsu?"
"He told me to fetch you for dinner, it's starting in 15 minutes. He wants you to dress nice, there will be guests attending as well."
I scoff. "In that case, I will show up in my nicest sweatpants and hoodie." I give her a wink and grin. I oh so love defying my father's orders, and seeing as he must have done something truly terrible to make Tsuyu look so sullen, I'd say he deserves it now more than ever. I grab my book and head to the door, walking out of the library with Tsu on my tail.
We head through the maze of castle hallways towards my quarters. As we pass by I notice random maids and guards sending sympathetic glances my way. Does everyone know what's happening except me? Ugh, I hate being left out of the loop. I stop at my bedroom door, greeting my other maids Ochako Ururaka and Momo Yaororozu. They open the double doors and we all walk in.
"Okay seriously guys, what is going on. Everyone seems to know but me," I question as I step into my sweats and pull my hoodie on. Silence. Literally, it was like one of those awkward cricket moments you see in movies. I turn around to see the girls exchanging worried glances, Ururaka even has tears threatening to fall.
Just when Momo is about to say something, she gets interrupted by sharp knocks on my door. Instead she walks over and opens it, revealing a very stressed Aizawa. He walks in, asking the girls to give us a moment alone.
After the girls have left, closing the doors behind them, he takes a seat on the edge of the bed, patting the spot next to him. I sit and turn to see him looking at me with a very serious expression. "Finally," I say. "Are you going to tell me what's going on?"
He shakes his head and sighs. "I can't, your father would kill me. But I am here to tell you something important. Do you remember the secret passage I made for you when you were little, the one that leads to the village part of the kingdom?"
"Of course I do, although I haven't used it in years. Why?"
"I just need you to remember that it's there, and that I love you. And it's because I love you, that I hope I never see you again after this. Stay safe," he finishes by giving me a kiss on my forehead. I stare after him, dumbfounded, as he makes his way out the doors, nodding to the girls before disappearing down the corridor.
"What happened," they ask as they enter the room, noticing me close to tears. I wipe my eyes and take deep breathes, trying to compose myself before speaking.
"He said... h-he reminded me of the secret passage, and he... he said he hopes he doesn't see me again, and to... t-to stay s-safe," I sniffle. The girls exchange looks of realization, as if an idea just popped in their heads, and they envelope me in a big group hug.
"It's going to be okay, we'll help you figure this out," Momo says, giving the girls knowing looks. I am now even more confused, but I trust them all, and so I calm down.
I stand up and tie my hair up in a bun so it's out of my face while I'm eating dinner. "I should head down for dinner. As much as I would love to defy my father further by showing up late, I love food more. I'll see you girls later, wish me luck," I say as I exit the room, leaving them in there to do as they please.
I sigh, making my way to the dining hall. Normally I would be brainstorming the whole way there, trying to figure out what the heck my father is up to, and who the hell the mystery guests are, but that interaction with Aizawa is what's really on my mind. Why doesn't he want to see me again? I would take it as a declaration of hate towards me, but I know he loves me, and he sounded so concerned and sincere when he told me to stay safe. The only logical explanation I can think of is that he wants me to escape something, I mean why else would he mention the secret passage? But what should I be escaping from? I mean I would have ran away from my father ages ago if it wasn't for my strong friendships with Aizawa and my maids. It has to have something to do with whatever my father is scheming. Guess I'll be finding that out now, I think as I approach the dining room doors.
"The princess is here," the guards announce as they open the double doors, revealing me to my father and his guests, and them to me. I walk in with a smirk on my face, taking a seat by my father. Looking around I take in my father's furious face and the shocked expressions of our 4 guests.
"I thought I told you to dress nice (y/n)," my father growls sternly, low enough so only I could hear.
"I thought this was nice father, it's better than the rags you usually have me wearing," I answer smugly, purposefully loud enough for the entire table to make out easily. Of course this isn't true, I'm always made to be dressed in the finest clothes. In fact my father didn't even know I had this outfit, Aizawa got it for me for my last birthday, I just enjoy making a fool out of him.
I hear a low gasp from our female guest, she has white hair with a few red spots, and an almost silent snicker from our white-haired male guest. My father is absolutely seething, and our oldest guest, probably the father of the other 3, looks beyond mortified. The only person in the room who doesn't seem to have had any reaction to my presence whatsoever, is a boy with half-white half-red hair, hetorochromia eyes, and a burn scar over his left eye, who seems to be just peacefully eating his noodles, with no expression, except perhaps boredom.
My father clears his throat, attempting to compose himself. "I apologize for my daughter's behavior tonight, she isn't usually like this." I snort and he shoots me a glare, so I send back an innocent smile. "Anyways, (y/n), this is King Todoroki, and his children Fuyumi Todoroki, Natsuo Todoroki, and Shoto Todoroki," he says, gesturing to the bulky father, composed Fuyumi, amused Natsuo, and noodle-eating Shoto. "I suggest you act more respectfully around them, as they will be around for the rest of your life," he finishes with a smirk.
My brows furrow in confusion, and Shoto finally stops eating, equally as confused and curious. "Are they moving in with us or something?" I laugh nervously at my question.
"Something like that," my father answers with a smug grin. "King Todoroki and I are forming an alliance. But not the usual alliance, the most powerful kind. An alliance bound by marriage. Who's getting married you may ask, well you are, my dear daughter. I have arranged with Todoroki a marriage between you and Shoto."
"What?!" Shoto and I shout, standing from our seats in unison. We stare at each other in horror, that's is, until my shock wears off into anger and defiance. "You can't make me, I won't do it." I yell at my dad, giving him the most menacing glare I've ever given in my life, the true "if looks could kill" glare.
"Oh yes you will, and the weddings in a week by the way, so you may want to come to terms with it fast, or you won't even get the chance to make it a ceremony you can enjoy." My father crosses his arms over his chest in triumph. "Now why don't we all continue our meal and get to know our new family in a civilized manner."
Shoto sighs and sits down in defeat, he must be used to his father controlling his life, I doubt he's ever defied one of his orders, something I've had tons of practice with. "No," I say, shaking my head.
"Relax (y/n), you won't have to worry about kids for roughly 5 years anyway, and Shoto is a nice boy. Now sit down, your food is getting cold."
"No," I repeat, striding over to the double doors. I throw them open and take off down the corridor.
"(Y/n)! Get back here!" my father shouts.
"Let her go. She's only making her life harder by being this dramatic. We'll make her a proper princess starting tomorrow, she can have this one night more to act foolishly," King Todoroki declares.
