(Y/n) pov

I bounce in my seat at the table as I wait for some of the others to finish picking their first songs. We've already ordered food. Some of us are sharing a pizza while Sero and Shinsou opted for burgers. Midoriya put our names in for 'Rewrite the Stars', and Kaminari told me he's singing 'What Makes You Beautiful' for Shinsou, apparently he's insecure and Kami loves boosting his confidence with cheesy things like this.
Mina is looking for a song for both of us to sing to Kiri and Bakugou, just thinking about it is making me nervous. Speaking of Katsuki, he's currently sitting alone at the table next to us, rapidly talking his fingers against the table in frustration. Who knew something as simple as picking a song would be difficult for Katsuki Bakugou?
Everybody else goes up and puts their name down, along with their song. I try getting Mina to tell me what song she chose for us but she's not going to tell me until the turn before ours.
A couple of us make quiet conversation while we wait for the person on stage. Kaminari will go after this, followed by Midoriya and me.  The rest of the group is going to take turns going after us. I think I overheard Kiri tell Bakugou that he chose a duet for them to do together.
The song ends and we all clap for the person on stage, well, except for Katsuki. Kaminari takes the stage and I decide to watch Shinsou's reaction. The opening to 'What Makes You Beautiful' starts playing and I'm pretty sure I see a blush spread across Shinsou's face.

You're insecure, don't know what for
You're turning heads when you walk through the door
Don't need makeup, to cover up
Being the way that you are is enough

Everyone at the table chuckles at the mention of makeup. I hum along as Kaminari continues the song, his voice is amazing. I feel a tug on my shoulder as the song ends and turn around to see Midoriya gesturing for me to follow him to the stage. Looks like it's our turn.

Shoto pov

We, being myself and the guards, made it to the Branch about a half hour ago. We split up to search for (y/n) and I find myself entering a building with a sign that says 'Teen Tavern'. A boy on stage catches my attention. He's singing. The song ends and he steps off the stage as I stand behind a beam, shielding myself from everyone's view.
My eyes widen when I see (y/n) take the stage with her green-haired companion. I planned on warning her about the guards if I found her, but as I watch Midoriya, I can't focus on anything else. He looks nervous and I can see her giving him words of encouragement before the music starts to play.
He begins to sing and I'm mesmerized. His voice is beautiful, and as I listen all the memories I have with him come back to me. Even as a child, I knew what I felt for him was more than friendship, I just didn't understand what it was back then.
It hurts to see them singing together like this, and I wonder if he's singing to her. I feel tears threatening to fall from my usually emotionless eyes as the song ends and they exit the stage. Seeing Midoriya head outside, I decide to follow him.
I exit through the back door to see him sitting on a bench, gazing at the sunset. "Got a lot on your mind?" I ask, not being able to speak up and get his attention.
He whips his head around and stares at me, eyes wide. "Wha... Huh? Todoroki?!" The corners of my mouth tilt up in a slight smile at his stuttering. "W-What are you doing here?!"
"I could ask you the same thing," I say, my face dropping back to its usual expressionless look, with just a hint of sadness. "I was informed by my old man that no one survived the fire."
He frowns at my comment and stands from the bench, walking over to me. "I'm sorry Todoroki. I can't imagine that was easy for you to hear. I've just recently found out that Kacchan and his parents survived as well. I wanted to find you, but your father never liked you spending time with me. I guess I was afraid he might kill me if he found out I wasn't dead," he finishes with a chuckle.
I nod and frown before staring at the ground in front of me. "I saw you singing with (y/n), you guys sounded great together."
"Oh, thank you. I need a girl's voice for a song and she agreed to help. I wasn't singing it to her, we don't see each other that way. In fact, we're both in love with other people," he mumbles the last bit but I hear it and look up to meet his nervous eyes.
"Who?" I ask, tilting my head a little to show my curiosity.
     "Huh?"
"Who?" I repeat, unconsciously moving a bit closer to him.
"Umm..." he panics, eyes looking everywhere but at me. "She likes Kacchan."
Well, that's weird, what could possess her to have feelings for him? "Ok, but what about you?" I ask, getting impatient and once again shifting closer to him without realizing it. Our faces are only a couple of inches apart now and my eyes flicker briefly down to his lips before going back to his eyes, awaiting his answer.
He gulps. "You..." he breathes out. My eyes widen in shock, and before I even realize what's happening, I'm connecting my lips with his. He inhales sharply before kissing me back, placing his hands gently on my chest for support. It's short and sweet and perfect.
I pull away suddenly at the sound of my name being called by one of the guards in the distance. I think his name is Iida. I glance around and don't see him, which means he must just be looking for me. I turn back to Midoriya quickly to say goodbye. "I have to go now, but I'm going to escape my father and come back here for you. I love you too," I say before running off to find the guard before he finds (y/n).
