Bakugou Pov

I grunt upon hearing Kirishima trying to be manly by letting (y/n) sleep in the middle. Why the hell is he trying to kiss up to her anyway?! We just met them, he can't already be interested in her, can he? He better not be! Not like I'd care if he did or whatever... why am I scolding myself?! I'm not doing anything wrong! I sigh. Why are they being so damn loud?!
They've finished setting up their beds now, I can't hear them moving around anymore, but that hasn't stopped them from chatting away with Kirishima. They've just finished telling each other their entire life stories, and are now just asking random questions.
"Where did you get all of the blankets and pillows?" she asks, her voice oddly comforting. What the fuck?! Shut up, stupid brain!
"We used to visit Bakubro's parents once a month, we'd bring supplies back with us every time. We haven't visited since Christmas though," I hear Shitty hair answer. Of course we haven't visited, like I need that old hag on my back about my life choices. She wants me to stay with them in Migrator's Branch, in hopes I'll meet a pretty girl and fall in love or some shit. If she wants to raise something so bad she can have kids her damn self and quit pestering me about it. I only just turned 18 for fucks sake. Or get a pet she can boss around.
Ok this is getting boring. I get up, walking over to stand above (y/n) with my hands in my pockets. She looks up and just stares at me. I roll my eyes to keep myself from getting flustered. "Fight me," I tell her, my tone coming out softer than I had intended. She just continues staring at me with a confused, somewhat frightened expression. "What are you fucking deaf or something dumbass, I said fight me!" She flinched slightly. Damn, I didn't mean to scare her, stupid girl.
"I heard you Bakugou, but why? Did I do something wrong?" she frowns, standing up to take the strain off our necks.
"No dumbass, so stop fucking sulking. I just wanna see if you can hold your own in a fight is all. So come outside and fight me!"
"I don't think that's such a good idea Kacchan, we haven't practiced any hand-to-hand combat yet," Deku warns, I just roll my eyes.
"Then she'll just practice with me, I can teach her better than you anyway. You coming?" I turn my attention back to (y/n), getting impatient. She nods hesitantly, obviously not underestimating me. I don't plan on underestimating her either. Sure she's got zero practice, but she doesn't look weak. She could be quite the challenge once I teach her a few things.
She follows me outside and stands facing me, about 10 feet away. I stand still for a second, surveying my opponent, and waiting to see if she's going to try anything. She just stands there, shaking in her boots. I chuckle and decide to just come at her without warning.
I run at her and her eyes widen as I grab her arms, tackling her and pinning them to her sides, not letting her move. She stares up at me, eyes round as saucers. Those beautiful (e/c) eyes. Focus Katsuki, focus! "You need to be more on guard, you didn't even try blocking my attack," I say as I let go of her arms, standing up and dusting myself off.
I pull her up and back off so we're back at our starting positions. "Let's try this again. I'm gonna come at you like I did before, and I want you to try to block me this time, or at least dodge. Got it?" She nods and gets in a more defensive stance, putting on a more serious face. Good, she's focused now.
I rush at her again and she darts to her left, causing me to miss and nearly run into a tree. She's fast! I turn back around to face her, finding her grinning at me. Oh I can't wait to wipe that grin off her face, but I'll give her a few more small victories first. I smirk. "Again."
She prepares for my attack and I launch myself towards her. She dodges and waits for me to come at her again. We continue like this for a few more minutes, before I decide to switch things up.
I run at her, as we've been doing, and she dodges. This time I anticipate which direction she dodges and land a pretty light hit on her stomach. "Oof," she stumbles back, gasping for breathe. I reach out and grab her forearms to keep her from falling into the tree behind her, and wait for her to regain her balance before letting go and backing away from her.
She gets back into a defensive stance and sighs. "Why do I get the feeling you went easy on me with that punch."
I chuckle. "Because I did. Now we're gonna try this again, but a little different. I'm gonna keep attacking until I land a punch, and I want you to dodge and block as many as you can. Do your best, I'm not gonna hold back this time."
I wait for her to signal that she's ready, and start sending punches her way. She dodges left and right, easily avoiding most of my advances. There are a few times where I think she's not gonna get out of the way in time, but she just raises her forearms as blockers. Her reflexes are remarkably fast, this might take a while.
This goes on for several minutes until she starts to get tired. She's still dodging and blocking, but her movements are sloppier, and she's not paying enough attention to her surroundings. I end up getting her backed up against a tree and she raises her arms in front of her face and chest, preparing for me to land the last punch.
"Ok, let's take a break," I say, walking towards the fallen trees Kirishima and I use as benches. I take a seat facing her, and watch as she puts her arms down, walking over to stand in front of me.
"But you were supposed to punch me. I lost," she frowns and takes a seat next to me.
I stare ahead, at nothing in particular. "You were strictly blocking, you were supposed to lose eventually. The test was how long you could hold your own before I won, and you lasted longer than most newbies would." I glance at her to see a big goofy grin on her face.
She bumps shoulders with me playfully. "Was that a compliment?" My eyes widen and I scoff, shaking my head in denial. I never should have said that, I was just trying to make her stop being miserable. Now she's teasing me dammit.
"Like hell it was!" I stand up abruptly walking back over to our sparring zone. "It's your turn. Try to hit me," I smirk, getting into my own defensive stance. She sighs and gets up, coming to stand a few feet in front of me.
She stands the way I stood before I attacked her, hesitating. So she was paying attention to my movements and poses too, while also learning how to keep me at bay, she's a fast learner. I continue waiting for her to come at me, frowning and rolling my eyes when she doesn't.
"I'm not gonna move, I just wanna see how strong you are. Have you ever punched someone?" She shakes her head and I drop my protective pose. "Just try, I won't even block. Now hit me."
She takes a deep breathe before sending me a small punch. It hurt a little but not enough to bruise, and I know she wasn't using her full strength. I raise an eyebrow and she huffs, punching me for real this time. I grunt and fall back, almost landing on my ass, but catching myself at the last minute. Now that's gonna bruise tomorrow. I grimace in pain, rubbing my ribs where she punched me. When I finally look back at her I find her staring at me in concern. I smile, knowing she cares fills me with a warmth I've never experienced. It's a nice feeling, but one thats got me on edge because it's new. "You can relax (y/n), I'm fine." I shake my head, clearing it of previous thoughts. "Let's try again."

(Y/n) Pov

We kept going at it until the sun was almost setting, stopping to take a few small breaks and eat lunch. We tried the same exercise we did in the beginning, only this time I was the one trying to punch him. I think I did pretty good, each session lasted 5 to 10 minutes.
Now we're all sitting on the logs outside by the unlit campfire, eating our dinner. Kirishima and Bakugou have a pretty good stock of fish and rabbit, and they apparently have a garden around here somewhere, because they have a decent supply of fruits and vegetables as well.
I take another bite of my food and think back to a few hours ago. Fighting with Bakugou was fun, albeit tiring, and I learned a lot. I just can't get the feeling he gave me while sparring out of my head. When he pinned me at the very beginning, and when I thought he was going to punch me while I was backed up against that tree... I couldn't help but get flustered. He has this strange effect on me. It scares me because I don't know what it is, and if it's good or bad.
I'm pulled from my thoughts by the sound of Kirishima attempting conversation. "So Bakubro, how was sparring with (y/n)? Is she any good?" I turn my attention to Bakugou, wondering what his response will be.
He shrugs. "She's not bad, but she still has a lot to learn, we only focused on the basics, no fancy moves yet."
"I don't know, that move you pulled on me in the beginning seemed pretty cool. He knocked me over and pinned my arms down all at once, I couldn't move," I gush, seeing everyone stare at me in shock. Kiri and Midoriya turn their attention to Bakugou, confusion written all over their faces.
"I just wanted to see if she was paying attention and test her reflexes," Bakugou shouts before getting up and storming into the cave.
I frown at the two boys left. "Did I say something wrong? I just thought it was cool, it did hurt like hell though."
They shrug before Kirishima answers me. "It's just not the way Bakugou usually fights. We spar all the time and I've just never seen him do that is all. I don't know why he got so fussy over it."
"We should go inside and discuss our plans for the next few days, it may not be a good idea for (y/n) and I to stay in one place too long. The further we are from her dad's kingdom the better," Midoriya stands, motioning for us to follow him back into the cave. I hope Bakugou has calmed down a bit.
We enter the cave to find Bakugou in his bed, laying on his back with his hands behind his head and eyes closed. "Is he asleep?" I ask quietly.
"Maybe. Why don't you check (y/n)? He seems to have a soft spot for you," Kirishima whispers, nudging me forward slightly.
"Not very manly Shitty hair," Bakugou says, startling us by sitting up and opening his eyes. Kiri frowns in shame, and Bakugou stands up, putting his hands in his pockets. "What do you idiots want?"
"We were hoping to discuss the plans for the next couple of days. Midoriya and I probably shouldn't stay in this forest very long."
"Where are you planning on going when you get out of here?" Bakugou asks with mild curiosity hidden in his constant scowl.
"Probably past the mountains on the other side of Migrator's Branch," Midoriya answers and everyone's eyes widen.
"That's a long way," Kirishima points out. "You have to make it through this forest, and Migrator's Branch. Then there's another forest on the other side of Migrator's Branch before you even reach the mountains, which are pretty large and treacherous. Are you sure you should be making the journey alone?"
"Well I didn't think Kacchan would want to come," Midoriya shrugs.
Bakugou sighs and rolls his eyes. "Shitty hair won't shut up about it if I don't agree to go, so whatever. We'll leave in a few days, after I've had the chance to train (y/n) a little more. It'll be next to impossible once we get moving."
I smile, excited to learn more before starting the journey. "Hey Bakubro, we should stop and visit your folks when we go through the Branch," Kirishima suggests.
"Do you want me to change my mind?!" Bakugou yells and the rest of us laugh, heading to bed in good spirits.
