First chapter of 2023, how we feeling?

Here I am again :D

--------------

"Prettiest girl in the school, how are you?" Anne cornered Cathy against the lockers.

Cathy rolled her eyes, "go away, Boleyn."

"Why?"

"Because I don't want you around me," she slipped away from Anne's arm, "leave me alone."

"Darling, I just wanted to ask you out on a date!" Anne called after Cathy, who flipped her off without even thinking about turning around.

--------------

"I've been looking for you everywhere, what are you doing here behind the bookshelves? In the very back?" Anne cupped Cathy's cheek.

"Oh, yeah, what a coincidence, I was hiding from you," Cathy scoffed as she swatted the hand away, "you've been more pushy than usual lately."

"I just want to be close with you? Is that not okay?" Anne frowned, stepping a few steps back.

"I'd prefer it if you took a different approach, a bit less.. intense."

"Oh, okay, let me think of something!" Anne grinned and ran out of the library.

"What is up with her?" Cathy's eyes drifted back to her notebook. A to-do list. But the only words that came to mind were Anne Boleyn. So basically her to-do list told her to do Anne.

"I think she wrote me a letter this time, it's anonymous, but," Cathy handed the folded piece of paper to Catalina, "it says something along the lines of 'you have pretty hair and I want to give you a kiss, will you please meet me behind the school so I can tell you that I think you look beautiful? You're kind'. Half the words are misspelled. I don't know who else would write it."

"Why would she do that?"

"I don't know, she's been more or less flirting with me," Cathy mentioned, "or she was making fun of me, I can't really tell."

"Yeah, I've had to deal with that kind of person before as well," Lina nodded, "what do you feel like when she comes around?"

Cathy looked at the ground, "I feel warm and fuzzy. I hate it. It's like she sets my insides on fire in a way I don't understand."

Catalina's mouth opened to form a response and she put her cup of tea down, "have you considered that you might, how do I say this, like her?"

Cathy choked on air, "what?! I would never like her! Never in a million years!" with a red face she rambled out reasons as to why she would not like Anne.

"Cathy, can you describe her for me one more time please?" Catalina distracted her.

"She has long, dark, flowey hair that perfectly frames her cute face with those stupidly adorable freckles and flawless eyes. She has smooth lips, always wears the same shade of red.. scarlet I think. And she always wears green, which is interesting because green has the calm that blue brings, but also the energy from yellow and I think that fits her extremely well. And she's very irritating, she keeps telling me that she wants to go out with me, but has never even properly talked to me. I don't think she knows my name."
