Chapter Twelve

Previously on the blacks ace
Everyone had reached syndey base but the small victory didnt come without a massive sacifice as atlas was destroyed to weaken the catagory VI kaiju enough so it could be killed
Now
Reece awoke to the sounds of mei's soft breaths on his chest something he'd had have to get used to again but as he tried he upmost to slip out from under mei he moved just enough to wake her as she sat up and rubbed her eyes tiredly
Mei: reece?
Reece: hehe sorry i tried to let you sleep
Mei: its ok but its feels to quiet
Reece: i know that feeling its been nearly 4 years since i was last here, after all surviving the black was an mission and a half in its self
Mei: it was so erm what do i do now?
Reece: what do you mean?
Mei: surely there is some test or trial for me to be in ace with you
Reece: oh that i suppose usually there would be but the black changed alot of thing people we never even thought about being drift compatiable are like myself and you
Mei: im glad we are i've lost you once i..... i dont want to again
Reece: you won't besides after a couple runs in ace i'll always be with you in the drift
Mei: hmm
Mei suddenly covered her mid section embarassed as her stomach growled making reece chuckle
Reece: seems someone is hungry
Mei:(shyly) a little
Reece: hey its nothing to be embarassed about babe besides it never worried out in the black
Mei: i had the goal of surviving to keep me from being embarassed but now im in a safe haven so
Reece: i understand that well let get you some food
Reece walked to wardrobe that was within the room and reached down to the bottom before placing a box on the bed in front of mei
Mei: what's this?
Reece: some of my older attires lets say i know it isnt much but you have a slimmer body that me so these should fit you for now
Mei: and what's wrong with what i have
Reece: nothing but i thought you might want to rid your self of past memories that those cloths bring
Mei: oh i guess it is time to move on
Reece: listen i know i hated shane for what he did to my father, to me and to you but for a short span of your life he was a fixed point so im not saying to forget him but somethings are better left buried that surfaced
Mei: wow that....that was actually pretty good where'd you learn that
Reece: oh shush you come on hurry up i'll be outside
Mei: why?
Reece who had just finished putting on a fresh shirt and cargo pant looked at her confused
Reece: your going to be getting changed?
Mei: babe we survived kaiju out there in the black yet you wont stay in your room while i change
Reece: hey i respect you mei and currently i dont have your permission to bare witness all of you
Mei: oh for christ sake just stay in the damn room you idiot im your damn girlfriend you allowed to see
Reece: fine fine just hurry up please im getting quite hungry myself
Mei quickly changed then the two walked hand in hand to the cafateria but before they walked in mei pulled reece to a stop
Reece: you ok?
Mei: can i ask you something? Something personal about me?
Reece: you can ask me anything babe what the matter?
Mei: i know the black made me ermm well less
Reece: women like?
Mei: yeah and since you returned my memories to me ive always had a nagging feeling at the back of my head that wasnt who i truly was
Reece: thats because it isnt well wasnt i suppose
Mei: huh?
Reece: before the black, before any of the shit hit the fan you were more girly yes but if im being honest not much more than you are now i'd say the two main difference were you had longer hair and you wore dresses every now and then but besides that you pretty much the same thinking about it now
Mei: oh so erm should i grow my hair out again?
Reece: i dont know, do you want to?
Mei: .....a little
Reece: then do it because to me short or long hair you will always be perfect
Mei blushed with a smile as she leaned up and gave him a quick kiss which he returned
Mei: well then i grow my hair out but can you do one thing for me please
Reece: within reason yes?
Mei: shave
Reece: yeah i do need to don't i?
Mei: yes
Reece: stubble?
Mei: (rolls her eyes jokingly) fine i'll allow it
Reece:( laughs) i know now come on food awaits
Reece and mei walked into the cafateria and everyone went silent
Reece: erm what is everyone staring at?
Reece felt a hand land on his left shoulder and when he turned his head he saw marshall rask
Reece: sir
Marshall rask: ranger its good your here because i have an annoucement to make everyone listen up with the return of the newly renamed jeager now know as black ace and its pilots its time for a long overdue change in marshall around here so from this moment forth i am no long the marshall of syndey base that position now goes to this young man right here
Reece: me?
Rask: yes son your father was to be marshall but when the black happened he rushed out there to saved lives and eventually you joined him and i must say you were two were quite something to witness but with the untimely death of your father and you being his next of kin his marshall promotion falls to you
Reece: but im just a 20 years kid
Rask: that maybe be true but from what ive heard from taylor and hayley they have given more than enough infomation to back up your promotion and before you ask me you will still be able to pilot those were your father conditions and i will not change them for you
Reece: well then i humbly accept the promotion
Rask: good and what about you ma'am
Mei: me?
Rask: why of course you are a package deal if im correct besides i think this one need reining in every now and then
Reece: he.... He isnt lying
Everyone chuckled but were sone silent again waiting mei's answer
Mei: you know what sure why the hell not
Rask: then as i said before from this moment forth these two will be your new marshalls of syndey base
Everyone cheered and applaud the new marshall duo
Taylor: hey!!
Reece: taylor?
Taylor: so marshall what next?
Reece: next? Hmmm i know exactly what to do next
Reece let go of mei's hand and step up on the nearest empty table
Reece: now i know we only have black ace as the only jeager here right now but that is about change rask you still got contacts with raleigh becket and nate lambert?
Rask: nate i do raleight maybe a stretch why?
Reece: well if you can get nate to bring all available jeagers from his base and bring them here
Rask: consider it done
Reece: good ok who's in charge of ace maintance
Dan: that me, the names daniel
Reece: may i call you dan
Dan: go ahead mate
Reece: right dan i want you ace back in full working order as quick as possible as well as all jeager bays prep and ready for any others jeager that arrive
Dan: it will be done
Reece: sweet rask is the jeager builders in england still operational
Rask: erm thats your factory reece remember black ace isnt actually PPDC property
Reece: (laughs) oh shit i actually forgot about that then i'll cover that part but do we have a back up program of the loa AI system
At the mention of loa taylor and hayley has stood up and were now standing in the newly formed crowd that stood in front of reece
Hayley: loa?
Taylor: what you planning?
Reece: firstly you two are getting atlas back the same damn chassis and everything as for the plan everyone, the plan is a operation i long thought would be impossible but looking at all of you here i know its damn sure possible now its time for operation takeover
Ford: your wanting to take back austrailia arent you?
Reece: damn straight i am, i will scour this whole damn planet and scrape together every damn jeager we have available to us, these kaiju want to take our planet, they wanna take out land and expect us to sit back and submit, hello no, and just like the great stacker pentacost once said we are going to face the monsters that are at our door, we're going to take the fight to them, TODAY WE ARE CANCELLING THE APOCOLYPSE!!!! SO TOGETHER WE WILL UNITE AS ONE AND SHOW THOSE DAMN KAIJU BASTARDS JUST WHO THE FUCK WE ARE AND THAT IS PAN PACIFIC DEFENSE CORE
Everyone began applauding and cheering as reece breathed heavily from his speech as for mei she couldn't help bur shed a couple tears as she watched her boyfriend bring everyone together for a new goal and world without kaiju.

So as the next couple months went ace was fully repair, restocked and even had two rail guns fitting to his back that would come down over his shoulders (like coyote tango) as for other jeagers nate lambert agree to help in operation takeover and brought jeagers saber athena, gaurdian bravo, bracer phoenix , novermber ajax and gipsy avenger all rebuilds from the uprising war and all their pilots even doctor herman gottlieb agreeded to help and in a shocking turn of events ralaigh becket had emerged with gipsy danger files and schmatics claiming mako mori had been planning her rebuild since the first kaiju war so reece sent them straight over to the factory in england and she arrived two months after atlas destroyer mkII making the total number of jeagers now eight and sixteen pilots in total not including boy since he was to stay with the atlas crew since they were the least battle ready out of all the pilots but with the offical start of operation takeover just a few months away and the number of kaiju now roaming the black aimlessly due to demise of the kaiju sister's increase the targets were becoming more and more clearer with each passing day things were starting to look up for syndey base and all of austrailia
