My second day of zoom meetings was just as overwhelming as the first. But if I'm being honest with myself, I'm kind of loving it. I spent the whole day being versed on more of our client's accounts and I think I may have found my place. I got along great with the entire team, working off of each others' ideas and have some solid plans laid out for the year.

I packed a duffel bag with a pair of comfy pajamas and lingerie. I know they said no bags but I can't chance them leaving me with granny panties or something crazy like that. Evie stopped by for a second to go on and on about the secret trip we're going on. I reminded her it's only for a day and we'll be in a meeting half the time anyway, I don't understand why she's so excited.

It's still hard to see her and know she's vying for my position and that in the end, only one of us will get it. I'd hate to take that away from her, from her sister. From anyone really.

Yeah it's better that I didn't know.

I haven't mentioned anything about it to her. Not yet at least. I really don't want to see her reaction when I tell her that I know they've been keeping it from me.

I toss the box holding my mask into the bag and grab my cards from the drawer studying the newest one from Rina. I better pack that black light too just in case.

Congratulations
You're one step closer

I shine the black light and find another word hidden in the back.

CATACOMBS

Catacombs? Well that took a dark turn. I go through all my cards to commit them to memory before packing them away. They wouldn't have told us to bring our cards if they meant nothing.

Hayes showed up later that night to pick me up. Apparently I was set to fly with the rest of the board on their jet and I know that doesn't help my case with the rest of the recruits.

I tried to get out of it, for obvious reasons, but he wasn't having it. So here I am, in my own bedroom, in a jet, and sorry to say but, I'm kind of excited. I can't wait to look outside as we fly, it's one of my favorite things to do on a plane.

I've never been in a jet before, so I spent as much time as possible, checking everything out from top to bottom before the rest of the board showed up. And by then I had already locked myself in my room. I'm not quite ready to see them again just yet.

Hayes steps back in and can I say, I like him even better when he's in a tank and sweats for bed? I mean, he slays a suit but holy crap am I one lucky girl.

"Hey it's me. Figured you'd want some water before heading to bed." He sets the glass down on the table next to the bed. "Drink up. You mind company? We can Netflix and chill?" He wags his eyebrows at me and I give in, of course.

I get into my pajamas, drink the water and head into bed with him as he starts looking for something to watch. Within a few minutes of the movie I'm delirious. "Sorry, I'm just so tired." I tell him as I cuddle on his chest. "And I wanted to look out the window too." I mumble incoherently.

"It's okay, go to bed, we'll be there when you wake." He strokes his fingers lightly over my forehead. I can't fight keeping my eyes open anymore and quickly fall into a deep sleep.
