(Evening)
The train slows down as it has reached its destination. Hagrid walks by with a lantern in his hand.
"First years! Come to me!" Hagrid called out.
The 4 new friends, all dressed in their appropriate school robes all stepped off together. They followed the other first years to Hagrid.
"Hello, Harry." Hagrid greeted.
"Hi, Hagrid." Harry greeted back.
"All first years, follow me to the boats. This way please!" He ordered and leads them to the boats the the school.
(The lake)
All the first years are gliding to a giant castle that seems to be on a large mountain. All the students are at awed that they will be going to school there. Harry was at most awed at the sight of the school.
(The great entrance)
All first years are walking all the way up to where they see a woman in an iconic witch's hat and wearing a dark green robe waiting at the top of the long stairs.
"Welcome to Hogwarts. I'm Minerva McGonagall, deputy headmistress. Now, in a few moments, you will walk through these doors and join your fellow classmates. But, before doing so, you must be sort into your houses. They are Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. Now, while you are here, you house will be family to all students. To earn points, you must show your triumph in any way. But, breaking of our rules and you will lose those points. And at the end of the school year, the one with the most house points will win the House Cup." McGonagall explained.
All the students agree on what they were informed.
"Please wait here. The Sorting Ceremony will be momentarily." She stated and went through the doors.
"So, Draco. Which house do you think we'll be sorted into?" Harry asked.
"Well, due to my family heritage, I'll end up in Slytherin." Draco informed
"Same here, Draco." Pansy added in.
"I think I might end up in Ravenclaw myself due to be intelligent." Hermione said to her new friends.
"I don't know where I will be at." Harry simply said.
"Probably Gryffindor." A voice spoke.
All 4 look to the side.
"So, it is true. Harry Potter has come to Hogwarts." A redheaded boy said to the crowed
All the other students murmured to what they have just been informed.
"This is Seamus and Thomas. And I'm Weasley. Ronald Weasley." The boy introduced himself in a snarky tone.
Draco chuckled.
"I know who you are due to your hair style and the way you're dressed. Malfoy." Ron said in a nasty tone.
"Leave him alone." Harry defended Draco.
"Why should I? His family thinks they're the best."
"They're very loving. One of his family members is my legal guardian."
"And who is that?"
"Bellatrix Lestrange."
All the students gasped at the mere mentioned of the name
"That woman should be put into Azkaban." Ronald sneered
"Leave my aunt alone." Draco stepped in
McGonagall tapped Ronald shoulder indicating to get back in line.
"We are ready for you. Please follow me." McGonagall informed them and they all proceeded inside the Great Hall
(The Great Hall)
The giant doors open leading them into the Great Hall where returning students are all gathered into long dining tables. McGonagall leads them to the front of the room where all professors and a hat are. Most students are looking up to the ceiling that shows the night.
"It's just an illusion to look like the night sky." Hermione explained to one student
They made it to the front and McGonagall motion them to spread out.
"Now, before we begin, Professor Dumbledore would like to say a few words." McGonagall spoke.
"I only have a few words to announce. First years, please take note that the Dark Forest is strictly forbidden to all students. And to all students, I have be asked by our caretaker, Mr. Filch, to remind you that the Third Floor Corridor on the right hand side is out of bound. Thank you." Dumbledore said as he took his seat
McGonagall rolls out a parchment that look like a list.
"Now when I do call your name, you will come forth. I shall place the Sorting Hat on your head and you will be sorted." McGonagall said as she calls out the first name.
"Hermione Granger!"
Hermione goes up to the front and relaxes. McGonagall places the hat on Hermione's head.
"Hmm. Very interesting. You have a very bright mind but seem to show a lot of courage to prove. I will sort you into...GRYFFINDOR!" The Sorting Hat spoke.
The Gryffindor table cheer as they welcome her to their home
"Draco Malfoy!" McGonagall calls out
Harry pats him on the shoulder for support. Draco goes up and sits and the Hat sorts him immediately.
"SLYTHERIN!" It said and Draco went to join the cheering Slytherin family
"Don't worry, Harry. I'll keep Draco company." Pansy assured him.
"Susan Bones." McGonagall called out
A young girl goes up to be sorted. While waiting, Harry sees a man standing next to Quirrell and feels a sharp pain in his head.
"Harry? Are you alright?" Pansy asked him in concerned.
"Yes. I'm okay, thank you." He tells her
Bones was sorted into Hufflepuff and the Hufflepuff group cheer
"Pansy Parkinson!" McGonagall called out once again
The young girl goes up and relaxes and let the hat do its job
"Ah. Just like your family. You are truly easy to sort, my dear. Slytherin!" The hat sorted her
The Slytherin table cheer and Harry applauded her knowing that Draco will have a friend with him in his new house
"Harry Potter." McGonagall once again called out
The entire hall went silent as the Boy Who Lived went up to be sorted into his new home during his school year. McGonagall placed the hat on his head and it begins
"Hmm. Difficult. Very difficult. Plenty of courage, I see. Not a bad mind either. There is talent, oh yes. And a thirst to prove yourself. But where should I put you?" The Sorting Hat wonders.
The hat notices that Harry doesn't want to disappoint his parents.
"Oh, yes. Your parents. You want to keep their name in good memory. You want to feel like they are proud of you. And you are showing true bravery in this moment. So with all of that, I shall send you to...GRYFFINDOR!" The Sorting Hat said.
Harry feels relieved and happy and the entire Gryffindor table cheer in excitement as well as he can see Draco and Pansy are applauding him. He takes his seat next to Hermione and shakes hands to his fellow students. He then notices Dumbledore raised his cup towards Harry. Harry smiled back at his headmaster and sits down as the Sorting Ceremony resumes.
