Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (AU)

Chapter Nineteen

(Many months later)

The holiday break was over and all the students returned to Hogwarts for the other half of the school year. But that did not stopped the 4 friends from finding out who is the mysterious Nicholas Flammel. Harry and Hermione were at the Gryffindor table while Draco and Pansy sat with their fellow Slytherins. Hedwig flew in and landed where Harry is sitting

"Hi, Hedwig." The young boy greeted his owl.
"Harry, shouldn't you be studying? Finals are approaching soon." Hermione reminded him
"Yes, but I think I might have heard Flammel name under Dumbledore's Wizard Card."
"You think you might find some clues?"
"It's better than not trying."

Hermione felt really proud that Harry isn't giving up.

"While I am looking, care to challenge me on a question?" Harry offered her
"My pleasure."

Hermione asked him what are the 3 crucial ingredients for a forgetful potion and Harry thought for a moment but answered and she was pleased that he was right. She then challenged him on Herbology and he got stumped but she taught him. It wasn't until Harry found the card.

"FOUND IT!" He exclaimed to her

He hands her the card and she reads it

"Dumbledore is particularly famous for his defeat of the Dark" Wizard Grindelwald in 1945..." Hermione read
"Go on."
"...for his discovery of the 12 uses of Dragon Blood, and his work on alchemy with his partner Nicolas Flamel!"
"I knew that name sound familiar."

Hermione thought of something.

"Let's get Draco and Pansy. I have an idea on where we can find him." Hermione said

They get up and head for the Slytherin table and grabbed their friends and head out of the Great Hall

(The library)

"I had us looking in the wrong section. How could I be so stupid?" Hermione said as she placed a huge grey book on the table. "I checked this out weeks ago for a bit of light reading."
"This...is light?" Draco asked

Hermione looked annoyed but resumed until she found him

"Of course! Here it is. Nicholas Flammel is the only maker of the Sorcerer's Stone." She tells her 3 friends.
"The what?" Harry asked confused
"It's a very powerful stone, Harry. It's is known to turn metal into pure gold and the elixir of life." Pansy informs him
"So, he's immortal?" Harry summed up
"Yes. Flammel has recently celebrated his 665th birthday." Draco added in
"And that's what Fluffy is guarding and that's what's under the trapdoor. The Sorcerer's Stone." Hermione said

(That night)

Harry, Hermione, Draco and Pansy snuck out of their houses at night to visit Hagrid in his home that is at the edge of the Dark Forest. They knocked on the door and Hagrid answered.

"Hagrid." Harry said to the giant
"Oh, hello. Sorry I don't mean to be rude but I'm in no state to be entertain today." Hagrid greeted
"WE KNOW ABOUT THE SORCERER'S STONE!" All 4 yelled in unison
"Oh."

He lets them in his hut

"We believe Snape is after it." Harry informed the giant
"Snape? You're not still on about him are you?" Hagrid questioned him
"Hagird, we think he's after the stone. We don't know why."
"Snape is one of the professors protecting. He's not on about to steal it." Hagrid simply stated to the 4
"One of the professors?" Pansy questioned
"Of course, there are others protecting the Stone isn't there? Spells and enchantments." Hermione spoke
"That's right. Nothing can get to that Stone. Nobody knows how anyway. Except for me and Dumbledore." Hagrid confirmed
"Does Bellatrix know?" Draco asked
"She does, but she is sworn to secrecy." Hagrid answered.

They hear a rattling coming from a pot that is hovering over a fire. Hagrid went to the pot and retrieve it out revealing to be a giant egg. Hagrid placed it on the table as it's shaking around.

"Uh, Hagrid. What is that?" Harry asked
"That? It's uh..." Hagrid tries to explain
"I know what that is. Hagrid. How did you get it?" Pansy said
"I won it from a stranger in a pub."

The egg then hatches and a small dragon comes out. All are at awe at the sight of the creature

"Is that...a dragon?" Hermione asked
"Not just any dragon. That's a Norwegian ridgeback." Pansy tells her friend.
"How do you know that?" Draco asked her
"I have a interest in dragons."
"Isn't he beautiful?" Hagrid gleefully said

The dragon looked at Hagrid

"Oh, bless him. Look. He knows his mummy."

He pets the small dragon

"Hello, Norbert." Hagrid named the creature
"Norbert?" Harry asked confused
"Well, he's got to have a name, doesn't be?" Hagrid explained.

Hagrid plays with Norbert who hiccuped and coughs out fire burning a little of Hagrid's beard. He fortunately puts it out

"You know, once he been trained to a bit. He said and sees something outside of his window. "Who's that?"

All 4 sees a redhead boy and runs off

"Weasley." Harry warned
"Oh, dear."
