"Um, hello" I said answering the door in my paint stained overalls
"Hi I got a delivery for S.C, you S.C?" the delivery man says
"that's my dad, can I sign for him?" I say
"Is he home?" The man asks
"Yea, he's just in the shower" I say shrugging my shoulders
"sign here please" He says handing me a clip board, I sign it
"Thanks, I'll get the packages." Says the older man
"Packages?" I say
"Yeah, there's quite a few of them." He says walking down the steps out to his truck
"Oh, ok um I'll leave the door open. Just leave them inside here." I say to him
"Will do." He says as he walks away
I walk back inside making sure the door is open, and go back to the back yard to continue painting
"Uhhh princess can you come here for a minute?" I hear dad call out for me
"Yea what's up dad? Woah!" I say, my path being blocked by stacks and stacks of red boxes almost as tall as the ceiling!
"Dad?!" I call out "this is like a maze! where are you?!"
"I'm over here! Come to the stairs!" He says calling out to me again
After almost 10 minutes in the maze of red boxes, I finally make it to dad
"Here's the list! Check it twice! Yours, B" a letter that dad opens says
"Oh! It's The naughty and nice list!" I say looking up at dad with a small smile, he just sighs and opens the box that the letter was under. He closes his eyes and then finally looks to see what's inside
It's pages of the names that start with the letter A
"Armand Assante?" Dad says reading one of the names then runs out the front door handing me the paper he was holding, I follow behind him but wait on the porch
"YO! Hold it! Hold-- Oh! Hold it!" Dad yells out to the delivery people chasing after them in their trucks "What am I supposed to do with all these packages, guys? Come on." He says now standing in the middle of the road
He turns around and walks past me and goes back inside while slightly shaking his head.
Now, we're both just staring at the many red boxes
"What are we gonna do with all these boxes, huh?" Dad says a little annoyed
"I have no idea" I say sighing
"I'll think of something" Dad says nodding a little
"I need to go clean myself up and get out of these paint covered clothes" I say to him as I go up the stairs to my room
