Alexis Michelle Gibbs was sent to live with her Uncle Joe Keenan in NYC, NY when she was 10. She had to leave her best friend, Arely behind. Her father, Leroy Jethro Gibbs, thought it was a good idea until she was ready to come home again. He was a single parent taking care of his daughter after her mother had died of cancer when Alexis was only 2 years old. Her father lives in Washington DC and works as an NCIS special agent. He didn't feel it was safe for Alexis to stay home alone since the nanny had quit a week before Alexis moved.
Alexis' life has changed since she moved to NYC. She became friends with the neighbor's kid, Barry Allen. He was only a year older than her and they became close. They were practically family so Barry was put on Alexis' papers as her brother. When she was 13, her and Barry were jumped by a group of kids (a gang) and they reported the crime.
Alexis met Detective Nick Amaro during questioning but Nick was only an intern for the SVU precinct since he was only 17. Her and Nick started to hang out when Barry couldn't. When Alexis turn 16, Nick met her uncle and asked if him and Alexis could start dating. Her uncle gave consent. Alexis is now 17 and is heading home from her job as a waitress...
