11: Trying to be normal around the villainess.

The next day I woke up from Suraida's monotone voice.

"Lady Nisha, it's time to wake up. Mistress left instructions that the lady should be prepared and should be dressed early."

I opened my eyes feeling like I barely got any more sleep than usual, but then back in my past life, I only got 2 to 3 hours of sleep at most. I gazed at Suraida standing beside the bed alone, and Ruhee was nowhere to be found.

Something within me felt a bit disappointed that Ruhee is not here to give me her usual snarky attitude, but isn't this a good thing?

I no longer have to worry about Ruhee nagging me to do this or that early in the morning, so this should be a happy thing instead. Yet, the more I reason with myself inwardly, the more I felt weirded out.

Despite my conflicted thoughts, I still plastered a smile to the maid, brushing off my complicated mind. "Good morning Sunaida," I greeted, sitting up.

The maid rolled her eyes. "It's Suraida, just how many times must I repeat myself, Lady Nisha? Don't you get tired of your own lame jokes?" She asked in a polite and rude manner.

I chuckled, stretching my arms out in the air. "Hmm, well, not really hahahaha." Then I went to the window as I pulled the curtain open. "Let's see what nature has in store for us on this lovely day…"

The end of my sentence became inaudible to hear as I stared at the building storm outside. My eyes watched as the bolts of lightning glinted in the greyish gloomy skies, drumming thunder to my ears.

"So what do you think, Lady Nisha?" Suraida questioned, appearing beside me as she also gazed outside the window. "Is it lovely?"

"..."

I cleared my throat as I awkwardly laughed, closing the curtain.  "Anyway, what do we have for breakfast?"

The maid shook her head. "We are instructed that the Mistress and the Lady will be eating at the masquerade party, so no one bothered preparing for any morning meal," Suraida explained.

I resisted the urge to take a deep sigh and show a despondent face in front of the maid. I just smiled through the pain.

Yes, for me, it's a heart wrenching thing that I won't be able to have my usual sunny lazy day; there isn't even a breakfast, and on top of that, I have to go meet a bunch of strangers again. I comforted myself by thinking that there are probably appetising delicacies on the masquerade ball.

Having these thoughts motivated my sulking mood.

"Well, let's groom up then," I suggested, shrugging.

The maid nodded in agreement. "Mm, follow me Lady Nisha," she said.

After that, we both headed to the bathing hall again. They dressed me, styling my hair differently this time. They curled the edges, and they just let it down like normal. They put lipstick on the rim of my mouth.

The moment I saw myself in the mirror; I smiled wanting to marry myself. I looked sharp today to be honest. It's the work of the dress, the make up, and the hair style. After all, I'm wearing a custom dress made by Vin, brother of Ruhee; the woman is currently my so-called pretend lover. Which is missing in action at the present time.

However, I think this is also for the better. I don't want to see her face so early in the morning. I guess Ruhee is also feeling the same, which is why she didn't show up to my room and disturbed my peace.

After getting ready, Suraida led me down the stairs. The maid mentioned that her mistress is already waiting on the carriage. As I took steady steps descending down the stairs, I suddenly felt jittery in my chest. My insides are swirling, and I feel nervous for some reason.
