"Baby please be patient with me it might take me ages to get it all out" Matt said. "That's ok just take your time love"Gabby said. As Matt and Gabby was getting comfortable in the pool as Gabby said one more thing before Matt was getting ready. "Whatever happens I'm not leaving you whatever is said we'll deal with it together" Gabby said.
Matt's POV
When I was 16 I understood what was happening Christie was at college the other side of the country starting her career. I was in my bedroom I was trying hard to concentrate on revising as I was doing my exams to become a firefighter. I heard my dad shouting at my mom words that I can't repeat I was hearing this for almost 1 hour before I decided that I was going to see what was going on going on as I put my book, so I slowly open my door and what I saw was my mom on the floor, covered in bruises so I went back to my room and be quiet as to make out that I was still studying for my exams then I heard the door shut so hard that it felt like it was coming off it is hinges as dad left. This was happening for a while. He was always drunk whenever he was abusing my mum either if it was words of physical abuse. Then a few months after my 17th birthday my dad had said some very harsh words and hit my mum so hard, it made her soo angry. She went over to his, three hours later she went over town to his apartment and grabbed his gun that he had left hanging around and my mom shot him. With my sister away she didn't have a clue what was happening. I think that there was something else that my mom has not said during all of her a busy especially leading up to her shooting my dad. The next thing I can remember is staying in my dads room for a week maybe more then. I remember my sister saying she wouldn't want me to wolly she would want me to succeed in life and be a strong proud brother. She was told about this by a family friend who flew up as she wanted to tell her in person.
As Gabby was listening to her fiancé Matt all she was seeing seeing tears rolling down his cheeks she couldn't believe what he went through in his childhood and why he hasn't been able to talk about it as it makes him sad. "Babe I didn't know that you went through all of that as a child without your sister around"Gabby said. "The next time we saw each was when our mom was sentenced to 15 years in prison with out parole and that was when I noticed that Christie pregnant we haven't been the same since that night she hasn't been able to forgive me since that awful time" Matt said. "Say no more love" Gabby said. "The one thing that I do know is that I inherited this family business from my Granddad Casey his friend ran it til I qualified as a Captain on Truck 81 which was two years ago when the friend died which is why I left 51" Matt said.
"Babe why don't we stay in each others arms in the pool for as long as possible while we eat this lovely fruit which contains of Blackberries Grapes Apples Strawberries and Raspberries and drink our bottles of water" Gabby said. "Our Sous Chef Martina done this for us"Matt said. "I love it and I love you loads" Gabby said as Matt was looking at her.
"It still hurts to this day" Matt said. "I'm not going anywhere we're in this together" Gabby said. " I haven't even been able to visit her in prison tomorrow will be the first time in 15 years and I'm really scared as I worry that I won't get the answers that I need" Matt said. "You won't be on your own babe remember we're doing this together as a couple" Gabby said as she was sitting in the pool with the man of her dreams planning our future together and forever. "I haven't been to my dads grave since Christmas I don't go as often as I like to" Matt said as tears was rolling down his cheeks.
"Babe what was happening before your sister left for college" Gabby said as the couple finished eating their fruit pots while all snuggled up in the pool. " I've only got memories of watching the Chicago Blackhawks on television with him and when the game ended especially if they lost he would take it out on me as he was always drunk I can't exactly remember the last time the four of us just bring a normal family without him being drunk" Matt said as Gabby was kissing and cuddling her fiancée and reassuring him.
