"Hello Matt how are you"Nancy said. "I've been good"Matt said. "Well who's this lovely lady here"Nancy asks as Gabby and Matt show off their engagement rings. "This is my fiancé mom Gabriela Maria Dawson"Matt said. "My pleasure to meet you ma'am"Nancy said. "You can call me Gabby and a pleasure to meet you Nancy"Gabby said. "What's the latest with everything son"Nancy said. "Everyone is well"Matt said. "How's your sister doing and Violet my granddaughter"Nancy asked. "They're doing great we work together and Violet is doing good at school she knows that you're her nan, but she doesn't know anything about where you are even her grandad"Matt said. "Anyway how did you two meet and where"Nancy said.
"Why don't you start baby"Matt said. "Well we've been working together at the same firehouse for over 5 years I was the Paramedic in Charge and Matthew was a Lieutenant at the time before becoming a Captain"Gabby said. "That's just part of it mom"Matt said. "We've been dating for two years"Gabby said. "The year before we all lost friends on the job"Matt said. "We lost firefighter Andy Darden and a friend who was a doctor at one of the clinics"Gabby said. "I'm soo sorry son for your loss"Nancy said. "Andy Darden was one of my best friends on my trick when he died he left behind a wife and two boys 16 year old Griffin and 12 year old Ben which I'm their guardian if anything happens to their mother"Matt said as Gabby was trying to get comfy.
"How have you been"Matt said. "Good thanks just focusing on you and your sister"Nancy said. "Before our next visit next week I need to know if there's anything you're keeping from me from now on I want us all to be honest, I knew dad had left a key under the mat/plant pot you haven't told me why exactly you done it, you do realise that Christie hates me and blames me for what's happened we've reconnected through Violet we've agreed that what me and Christie has gone through stays between us til she's older enough to understand"Matt says. "Matt he was going to abuse you if I didn't do anything"Nancy said. "Nancy is there anything you want to ask me"Gabby says. "Mom, Gabby and I have been working together for a long time and since we've been together we've done everything at work and home"Matt says. "Gabby why don't you go toilet before we go"Matt said. Gabby agrees. As Gabby walks to the restroom so she can leave her fiancé to talk to his mom.
"Matt what happened to Hallie"Nancy said. "Hallie was the doctor who we mentioned earlier on mom"Matt said. "I'm only going to say it once mom"Matt said. "Ok son"Nancy said. "Hallie was working in a clinic while also helping out at Lakeshore, we all got to the scene at the clinic in which point was ablaze so intense we got Hallie out then the paramedics took her to the hospital to treat her from what we thought that she died from the fire was in fact was a blow to the head"Matt said. "I'm soo sorry Matt for your whole company to attend to"Nancy said. "Gabby's been a superb help and she's been there for me just like my crew"Matt said. "I'm soo happy that you had people there to help you through it"Nancy said. "Thanks mom"Matt said as Gabby came out of the restroom.
It's now 4:15pm and the sounds of the alarms go off as visiting hours are over for today. "Will I see you again son"Nancy asks. "All depends on work"Matt says as Nancy agrees. "Babe are you ok"Matt said as they both was led to the reception so they can leave the building and go home.
Nancy's POV
As I came out of my cell at 3 to see my who has come to visit me. I look round and I see it's my son Matthew with a woman I say to myself why has my son came to see me dressed smartly since I was admitted here 15 years ago with not a word or anything til now. When we all sit down our talk to one another as I started rough as we haven't seen each other for a while since my trial.
They leave the Prison and get back in the car. "Hello guys do you want to go back home" Mr Rogers asks. "Yes please"Matt said. As Mr Rogers drives Matt and Gabby, they can now talk about what's important. "Babe are you alright"Matt asks. "I'll be fine once I've eaten food as I can hear the babies talking"Gabby said as she was getting comfy as she was able to wear something better in other wards something that can show off their 14 week and 5 day baby bump.
"Matt how do you think that went with your mom"Gabby said. "I feel a lot better, it went better than I thought she even asked me if I was going to visit again"Matt said. "What did you say babe"Gabby asks. "I told her all depends on work"Matt said. "Does she know about the family business and we certainly can't hide our baby bump for much longer babe"Gabby says. "Mom doesn't know about the family business and I agree love with the babies"Matt said as he placed his hands along with Gabby's hands on her pregnant belly before they arrived home (1 hour later he kissed it something that makes Gabby really happy). "Thanks Mr Rogers"Matt said. "You're welcome boss"Mr Rogers says. "Let's continue this this upstairs babe as we eat our food"Matt says. "I agree love I need to eat"Gabby says as they both got out of the car.
"Babe why don't you put this on til we get upstairs"Matt said. "That's a good idea love just in case we bump into anyone before we tell them together"Gabby says as they walk upstairs to their home and when they walk through the door they find Christie and Violet there finishing off the cakes and the non-alcohol cocktails. "Thanks sis these loo awesome"Matt said as Gabby rushes off to the restroom. "I need to be with Gabby right now sis, I'll let you know later how it went with mom, right now Gabby needs me, rest and food"Matt said. "Is there anything I can do bruv"Christie said. "You can help with the business"Matt said. "Ok bro, Violet let's go Uncle Matt needs his space"Christie said. "Matt..."Gabby said. "I'm on my way love"Matt said. "Bye Uncle Matt"Violet said.
As Matt walks into the restroom and he sees Gabby being sick. "Love you need to have something to eat and drink loads of water"Matt said. "Can I have some peanut butter and jam sandwiches and some relish with it please"Gabby said in between throwing up. "Remember you need to drink at least 2-3 glasses of water a day, Dr Lacey told us earlier today"Matt said. "Yes"Gabby said. "Whatever you want my love you can have it"Matt said as helped his fiancé off the floor and over to their sofa.
While Matt went over to the kitchen to make the sandwiches for his pregnant fiancé, Gabby has put the television on and she puts the sports channel on where Chicago Blackhawks are playing against Tampa Bay Lightning. "Babe they're about to start and would you also bring over a blanket"Gabby said. "I'm coming love"Matt said as he handed the sandwiches over and put the blanket ever them both. "Thanks love for the sandwiches"Gabby said. "You're welcome babe why don't you eat up we can talk about the babies once the game has finished"Matt said. "I can start writing things down of how I have imagined this to be"Gabby says as she finishes the sandwiches with relish and so far one glass of water.
As Gabby is lying down between Matt's legs he puts his hands on his fiancés belly, Gabby who is writing things down from her list of things that she's had from the age of 13 years old while watching the Chicago Blackhawks play. "Gabby are you enjoying yourself"Matt said. "Matt I'm happy right now as you move your fingers over my belly it makes me tingle which I love. I've pictured the perfect Cribs, Moses Baskets, Pushchair in black with matching Car seats and the perfect nursery for them along with my perfect Wedding Day"Gabby says as Matt was focussing on his team who was winning.
"Babe remember you need to keep drinking plenty of water"Matt said. "I know love"Gabby said. "When are we going to tell people about the babies"Matt said. "When I'm in the middle of the second trimester"Gabby said. "That's good with me"Matt said. "I'm already thinking about your birthday babe in 36 days time"Gabby says.
"Matt can you please pass me my water and some biscuits off the table as they enjoy the last part of the Chicago Blackhawks game, Matt have you checked your work phone to see what's happening"Gabby says. "Not yet I'll just turn it on now love"Matt said as Chicago Blackhawks smashed The Tampa Bat Lightning team one of the biggest games. Matt checked his work phone and there's a message from Heather Darden who works on Florida.
"Hey Matt sorry to bother you so late I was wondering if I can have your and Kelly's help please it's to do with Ben as you know is birthday is soon and Andy died after Griffin was 13 so he sorted his birthday"Heather wrote. "Sorry Heather for not getting back to you straight away I've been really busy the past few days, can we FaceTime with the kids there please I've got something to tell you all tomorrow at lunchtime"Matt writes back.
It's now 9pm and after a long hard day Gabby falls asleep on the sofa with Matt next to her. As the door is already open Leslie Shay walks through the door and she hears what Matt is about to say.
"Hello in there my two beautiful girls in their it's daddy here, mommy's asleep she needs all the rest while she carries you both as you grow, I can't wait to be your daddy in 4 1/2 months time me and your mommy can't wait to be your parents in the summer" Matt says. He then kisses her belly and says goodnight babies.... Leslie Shay sees all of this before walking into the living room....
