It was my last three days of running away. I was in South Dakota, starting my way home. I did what I usually did. Got a motel room, went to sleep and left the next morning.

I then was in Iowa again.  I got a motel room and showered. I then went to get food and came back. Afterwards, I watched tv. Eventually it was night time and I went to sleep. Tomorrow I would be home, and that scared me.

"I've come to a conclusion that Janie's never coming back. It's been a month." Eric said. "She'll come back, all she needs is time. Between the rumors at school, what the guy she likes did, she needed to get away, and I can understand that." Donna said.

"Yeah, but she should of called, I told her to call." He said. "It'll be fine." Donna assured him, holding his hand. Janie had missed them getting together.

"If I ran away, I'd come back." Kelso said. "That's because you're too dumb to figure out how to runaway. You'd go somewhere obvious." Hyde said.

The outskirts of Point place, Wisconsin
A bus stop
5:34 pm

The bus didn't go into town, it stopped right on the outskirts of Point Place. 'Helloooo Wisconsin' I told myself as I lit a cigarette and started walking. Eventually, I reached my neighborhood, the cigarette now gone. I figured that everyone would be in the kitchen right now so I went to the front door.

I looked through a window and saw that none of them were in the living room. I slowly and quietly opened the door and walked in. Shutting it close as quiet as possible.

I then tiptoed up the stairs and opened my bedroom door. I stepped inside and closed the door. My eyes went wide, it was Hyde. He heard the door close and looked at me, his eyes also going wide.  Neither of us said anything, we both stood there, staring at each other, shocked.

Like I knew they would, all the feelings I felt towards Hyde returned and I think I like him more now then when I left. "Where'd you go?" Hyde asked. "I-I went a lot of different places. None of them were the same as here though. Don't get me wrong, I hate Point Place, but I missed our friends...and I missed you." I said.

"Well, I missed you-we all missed you man." He said trying to correct himself. "The reason why I left is so stupid." I said as I put my bag on my bed. "Yeah, Eric and Donna told us. And I'm sorry." He said.

"Sorry? For what?" I asked confused. "Donna told me why you left, and I'm sorry. "Oh." I said. I didn't think he would find out. Before I knew it, Steven had hugged me. I found my self hugging him back. "I missed my best friend." He said.

I pulled away. "So did I, also, why are you in my room?" I asked. "Oh yeah, about that. I live here now. Edna left the same time you did." He said. I didn't know that. "Oh god, Steven I'm sorry." I said as I hugged him.

I tried to pull away again but he wouldn't let me. "Steven, what are doing?" I asked him as I stared at him. He didn't say anything and I watched as he moved his head close to mine. I didn't move. He kissed me.

I started to kiss back eventually we pulled away. "Whoa, I uh. I should go to my parents, tell them I'm alright." I said. He nodded and walked down the stairs with me.

The kitchen door opened. Steven went first. I waited a little bit before I went in, I was scared. I finally got the courage and I walked into the kitchen. Everyone stopped eating, and looked at me. Red immediately got up and walked over to me.

He started yelling. "Where the hell have you been young lady!? You just leave in the middle of the night, and no one knows where you were for a whole month? What is wrong with you!?" He asked.

Tears started coming out of my eyes. I've been yelled at by Red before, but it was never this bad. "You wanna know what's wrong with me? Casey, that ass wouldn't take no for an answer, and when I told him no, he spread a bunch of rumors about me at school. You don't get to yell at me! You've never gone to school and have all eyes on you, calling you a whore and saying things that's I never did do! You never had to walk up to your locker just to have it read SLUT on it in giant red letters. You've never had the guy you've liked since you can remember, kiss someone else! I'm so sorry that your daughter ran away because everything was being to much! At least I came back, because trust me, I was gunna go to Canada, and I would of freaking stayed there! But I couldn't and didn't because I missed my friends!" I yelled at him.

"We're just glad you're okay sweetie." My mom said. I smiled at her. "I'm, I'm going to my room." I said. "Steven, you can stay in the basement." Kitty said. He nodded and followed me up to my room. "He didn't have to yell at me like that." I said sitting on my bed, wiping the tears away as they fell.

Steven sat next to me. "Yeah, you were gunna go to Canada?" He asked. I laughed. "Yeah, but I couldn't find a bus that would take me." I said. "Why Canada?" He asked. The tears stopped a little. "The beer and Canada isn't Point Place." I told him.

He nodded. "Steven?" I asked as I laid my head on his shoulder. "Yeah?" He answered. "What all happened while I was gone?" I asked. "A lot." He said. I picked up my head and looked at him. He also looked at me.

"You know." I said. He nodded. "So, what does that mean? How do you feel?" I asked. "I don't know how to say this without sounding like a girl, but I'm not repulsed by the idea of you and I, it doesn't make me want to throw up." He said.

"But you kissed Jackie." I said. He shook his head. "She kissed me, and I'm guy." He said. I laughed. "What's funny?" He asked. "That's the same thing Donna said when I told her I saw you." I said.

"Well, I am sorry." He said. "I know." I told him. He leaned in and kissed me again. "If we keep doing that, we gotta call this something." I told him. "Yeah. Well. I guess I'd call you my girlfriend." He said.

"Did Steven Hyde just call me his girlfriend?" I mocked. "No." He said. I laughed. "You totally did!" I said to him. "Careful, I can start hating you Little Forman." He said. I laughed. "No you can't." I told him. "I know." He said.

"You should probably get your stuff and go to the basement before one of my parents or Eric walks by and hears us talking." I said. "Why? They know we're friends." He said.

I shook my head. "Kitty already knows that I like you, and the door is closed." He nodded and grabbed his stuff. "I'll see you later Janie." He said as he kissed me and then walked out my room and down the stairs.

So apparently Steven likes me back. Coming back to Point Place, wasn't as scary as I thought it was.
