7:30 am***
I woke up to my alarm going off. I groaned and lazily hit it so it would stop. I really hated today, and the next 9 months. We'd be serving time, unwillingly at school. Dammit. I eventually got up and took a shower. After my shower, I got dressed and headed downstairs to the kitchen. Kitty was smiling and what not like she usually does.
Eric looked like he had just woken up, and Steven wasn't even at the table yet. I sat down and Mom handed me a plate. "So, are you kids excited!?" Mom asked us with way to much enthusiasm. I sighed. "No." Eric and I said the same time.
Eventually Steven joined us. After breakfast, Kitty gave us our lunches and we all got into the Vista Cruiser. Eventually, we made it to school. Ew. As soon as I got out of the car, people were looking at me. I mean, I did run away and before that there was the rumors and Casey.
I groaned and put my head on Steven's shoulder. He wrapped his arm around my waist and we started walking into the school. People were looking at us. I wanted this day over with.
Steven walked with me to my locker. "Sucks we don't have any classes together." I said. He nodded. "I know, man." He said. I nodded. "I took his hand and looked at his watch. "Looks like we go our separate ways." I said. He nodded and he started to kiss me. Eventually he pulled away.
I told him that we need to hang out later and he agreed. I watched as he walked down the hall. I groaned and started my way to my own class. When I entered the door to my class, everyone looked at me and started whispering. I rolled me eyes. "If your gunna talk about me, talk about me to my face, there's no point in whispering every time I enter the goddamn room. If you wanna know what happened I'll tell you." I told them.
They stopped and I took my seat. One of them asked what all happened. I sighed and looked at her. "Casey Kelso is an ass, and he didn't take no for an answer, rumors were spread last year and over the summer, I ran away, I came back, and now I'm dating Hyde. End of story." I said glaring at them.
No one else said anything and the bell rang. After all my classes, I was thankful for lunch. I sat down at an empty table and waited for everyone else. Two girls walked past us whispering. "She's dating Steven Hyde. I wonder is she'll try going for Kelso next. That's what whores do." One said.
"Maybe she'll be like her sister." The other said. I rolled my eyes and looked across the cafeteria. Thank Christ it was Eric and Donna. "Are you okay?" Donna asked. I sighed. "Somewhat, it's just that people are still talking about me. Saying that I'm gonna end up being like Laurie." I said.
Eric shook his head. "Janie, your not Laurie." My brother told me. I nodded. I told them I didn't want to talk anymore so I just sat there. I felt someone sit down next to me. I didn't bother looking. I wanted today over with. "What's wrong with my burnout?" It was Steven. I looked at him and he put his arm around me.
"This school is literally hell on earth. The people here are jackasses and bitches." I told him. Kelso and Jackie then joined us. Hyde said he'd hang out with me later and I nodded. Kelso and Jackie were too busy eating each others faces to join in on any conversation.
The bell rang and we all went our separate ways again. I hated history and I hated gym. Luckily for me, those were my last two classes. History was boring and the teacher lectured me afterwards about how my running away was a real detriment to how he does things in the classroom. He also told me that I had double the work to do because of what I missed while I was gone last year.
I shook my head and grabbed the pile of homework he gave me and went to Gym. We didn't do anything. All the gym teacher did was give us our gym shorts and shirts and we walked. Thank Jesus.
After my last class, I went to my locker and started putting my stuff away. As I was doing that, I looked down the hallway and saw Steven walking up to me. "I am so ready to leave this place, man." He said. I nodded. "Yeah but we have to come back tomorrow." I told him.
He shook his head. "We just gotta get in trouble at the same time so the teachers kick us out and we can skip again." He said. I smiled. It reminded me of the day that he and I got kicked out last year and we went to The Hub. He called me beautiful that day, and love-able.
I grabbed my book bag and closed my locker. I kissed Steven, he wrapped his hand around my waist and we started our way to the Vista Cruiser. "Took you two long enough." Eric said. I rolled my eyes we all got inside, going to our safe haven, the basement.
Jackie left so we all collectively decided to have circle time. We needed it after our first day back at school. "I want my English teacher." Fez said. I looked at him through a cloud of haze.
"Fez, man, you do realize she's like 40 or something right?" I asked him. He shrugged. "My type of women." He said smiling. Donna started laughing. "I needed this." I told them all. I hadn't been a part of the circle in a long time. I needed to break away.
We continued to talk about random things. Donna and I trying to campaign our 'Cocaine Infused Shampoo' idea to the guys for like the millionth time, Fez fantasizing about either his English teacher or Jackie or Donna and I, Kelso having no idea what's going on, Eric whining about everything, and Steven going on his pretty much everyday tangent about cars running on water.
Jesus I loved this weird little group of people.
(Authors note- Sorry it took so long to write this chapter. I've been dealing with school and lot of personal problems and mental health, but it's here now. I don't know when I'll be able to add another chapter but I will eventually. Thank you to all who've been enjoying it! —Jaimie🖤)
