XVII WHAT YOU'VE ALWAYS WANTED

PETE'S POV:

It's hard, really. I mean, no matter what I do or don't do, it always seems to put me in a difficult situation.

For example, what I did:

I attended my former boyfriend's wedding so my former boss would get the deal my ex-lover's father-in-law promised to sign if my ex-boss brings me over.

What I did not do:

Plan to kiss someone at plain sight in the wedding but I ended up getting kissed anyway.

The difficult situation:

"Well?" Khun Noo faces Khun Kinn and I with his arms crossed as we both enter his room, upon his request of course. Shit.

"Have you completely lost your mind? Do you never learn, huh?" He asks. I guess it's for Khun Kinn. Even Khun Kinn would probably not talk back to Khun Noo. This is one of the rare times he looks serious. And angry too.

"Why do you never learn not to date those who are below you at all times? After what happened in your past relationship, you still go for someone so much like that asshole ex-boyfriend of yours? Ha!" He says again and I feel really bad about the insult. I guess even Khun Noo looks down on me. What did I expect, though? Even when they're nice to me, I'm still not really family to them.

I lower my eyes and stare at my hands. I should have known my place and avoided them as much as possible. If I did that, I wouldn't be this looked-down on. At least not in front of me.

"Tankhun!" Khun Kinn yelled his name.

"Shut up, Kinn. I'm talking to Pete. Have you no taste in men, Pete? First Vegas and now Kinn?! Eeew! This won't do. I'm setting up blind dates for you from now on!"

I felt relieved but shocked.

"It's not what you think." Khun Kinn managed to say as he tries to dodge the attack.

"You asshole! You exposed Pete to the public! Now your enemies will be after him thinking he's your lover!" Khun Noo yelled which made me stop. That's right. This is a bad situation. I'm no longer connected to them and I have Venice to protect.

"I will take responsibility fot their safety---" Khun Kinn was cut off when Khun Noo hit him again with the pillow despite Arm and Pol's efforts to stop him.

"Get out!"

"Fine, I will but I need to talk to Arm. Pete's amulet is missing. I need you to hack into the church's CCTV" Khun Kinn said

"No, get out! I told you not to act like my bodyguards are yours, Kinn. Now go away before I get really mad." Khun Noo said with his calm demeanor. Khun Kinn had no choice but to retreat and get out of the room.

Khun Noo locks the door and looks at me.

"Now, Pete. I'll have to ask you. Would you mind telling me what happened?"

It's a good thing that Khun Noo, Arm, and Pol are people I can trust. Still, I can't tell them about everything so I only told them what happened on Vegas' wedding day. I highlighted the fact that people were gossiping about me and I heard it. Khun Kinn did too amd so he kissed me to somehow save me from the embarrassment and to prove them "wrong" about me not being good enough for people like them.

I didn't tell them that that makes me cringe. While it's true that a lot of rich people may be out of my league, if I'm being honest, sometimes when I'm confident, I feel like the Theerapanyakul cousins aren't ALL THAT. Aside from money, looks, it's just danger that make them attractive. Behind it all, they were just normal.
