F/s - favorite sandwich
F/p - favorite pop/ soda (or juice if preferred)

"Yo, Y/n!" Clay called out, causing me to jump. "Haha oops! Didn't mean to startle you there." He put his hand on my shoulder, sending shivers up my spine

I smile, flustered, "it's fine, don't worry about it." Shifting my backpack, I notice that his hand is still on me.

"Hey, we should get to class soon. Ready for some history?" He questions.

"Y- yeah, let's go before the bell rings." After I said that, Clay finally took his hand off of my shoulder and we started walking together to class.

The two of them took their usual seats; Clay just a desk ahead of Y/n as always. The h/c haired girl couldn't help but look over to her left at that boy she had seen earlier. This time, his head wasn't facing away from her, but up to the front. His eyes were almost yellow but somewhat darker and she found the uniqueness interesting. Soon she was submerged into her schoolwork and didn't focus on anyone except for Mr. Laurier and his monotone droning.

I took my lunchbox out of my locker and deposited my schoolwork before heading to the cafeteria. Buying a f/p from the concession, I take a seat in one of the few empty tables and settled in. Just as I was about to take a bite out of my f/s sandwich, Tiffany slid in to the seat across from me.

"Hi girl! It's been a while, how are you?" Her characteristic singsong voice chirped out as she set her glittery lunch bag on the table

"I'm doing pretty well, you?" I replied in a civil manner.

"Amazing, actually!" She did little jazz hands, which made the charm bracelets on her tan wrists jingle.

Y/n raises her eyebrows, "that's good to hear, Tiff." After being friends with Tiffany since middle school, she had gotten used to her constant excited antics.

"Well~ I have some tea to spill. There's this guy, complete hottie! I met him a couple days ago and I definitely have a crush on him."

Now this sparked my interest, "really? That's so cool, good luck!" the shrill tone of the bell rang, signifying the end of lunch. "Maybe we can chat after school, mkay?" I asked, shoving the rest of my sandwich in my mouth. Tiffany agreed and waved goodbye to me as I left.

My jaw grinds as I watch my Y/n chatting away with that brat, Tiffany. My poor darling is so naive. I'm surprised she hasn't figured out that Tiffany has been talking behind her back with her other friends. Has she not noticed that bitch hasn't talked to her for the longest time? I just know she's planning on doing something, and I'm fully prepared to stop it. I force myself to not look at Y/n just long enough to watch Tiffany walk over to her other friends as they laugh together. I scrunch my nose up disgust for how cruel they're being to my precious. I take a deep breath and remind myself that they will most certainly pay when time comes. I exit the cafeteria and follow the same route as my true love. I just know that one day, she will be mine.

Bouncing my knee up and down as a fidget, I desperately attempt to pay attention to Mrs. K. I doubt I'd be lying if I said that I barely even understood the concept of this unit. Feeling a buzz on my thigh, I attempt to discreetly pull out my phone from my pocket without the teacher noticing. Surprisingly, it was a text from Tiffany. I found it odd considering she hasn't texted me in at least a week, but I open it anyways

Tiff

Heyyyy! I just found out that you're friends with my little crushhh. Could you do me a HUGE favor?

Yeah sure, but I'm in math now so can this wait? Yk how strict Mrs. K is with phones. I don't really want a detention on my permanent record

Omg I'm soooo sorry! We can definitely talk later girl!

I quietly slipped my phone back and continued to face forward like nothing ever happened. 'Math sucks, I wish it wasn't a mandatory class.' I thought to myself.

"Alright class," Mrs. K's snippy voice cut through my inner dialogue, "you'll have page 118 and 119 for homework. Due tomorrow!" She said the last sentence with force, sick of all the late homework assignments.

Y/n groaned quietly and flipped to the page. She didn't like to do math work, but she disliked Mrs. K's brutal punishments more. Besides, it's better to do it now so there's less to do at home. She drummed the fingers on her non dominant hand while working. Eventually her mind began to wander. Y/n wondered if she'd be able to chat with Clay again today after she heard what Tiffany had to say to her. She recalled her experience with him this morning. Y/n couldn't say she didn't like his touch, in fact, she absolutely loved it. But at the same time, she was confused by how long he let his large hand linger.
Y/n figured she just felt like it was a long time because she was in love with him. Clay probably just meant it in a platonic way.

Seeing Y/n in the hallway after school put an automatic grin on my face. I got even more excited when I noticed she was walking my way. Pondering on what I should say to her when she bumps into me, I remember that she wouldn't mind going out somewhere else with me. I could possibly invite her to the new café that opened up near my house. Afterwards, I would be able to invite her over to my place. My moms wouldn't mind, they just adore Y/n. I really hope they don't say anything to embarrass me in front of her. My attention is quickly pulled back to reality when Y/n makes a sharp turn right instead of towards me, much to my confusion. What is she doing? Sighing in defeat, I turn around to head home.

I looked around for a certain ginger haired girl that wanted to talk to me. Finally spotting her, I turn left and tap on her shoulder. Tiffany spins around, "oh, Y/n! Just the person I was looking for. Come with me."

She grabs my wrist and guides me outside the school and to the hard concrete stairs where it was a little bit quieter. We both sit down on one of the steps and I realize something, "hey, you never told me the name of your crush. Who's the lucky guy?" Tiffany is popular and is always wearing something pretty. If someone were to date her would definitely boost their popularity within the school big time.

"I just assumed you knew. After all, I said that he was one of your friends, didn't I? Well... I'd prefer if I could ask you the favor first. I'm a bit embarrassed of who it is." She replies sheepishly.

"Yeah sure, go right ahead Tiff." I say, not minding. I'd find out who it was sooner or later.

She picked at her perfect red nail polish, "I know it's a bit of a big favor but could you set me up with him? Yknow, since he's your friend and everything I'd get a better chance with him if you were the one to push him my way."

I contemplate it for a bit, then nod. "Why not? I don't mind playing Cupid every once in a while."

She lets out a squeal and grabs me into a tight hug "Thank you so much! I really owe you." She lets go and sits back down. "Well I suppose I should tell you who the guy is... it's Clay."

It felt as if my heart dropped right into my stomach in shock. Before my better judgement could take over, I blurted out something I deeply regretted as soon as I saw the look on Tiffany's face. "But... I like Clay."

[I feel so cruel for making it a cliffhanger, but it just adds to the drama. Don't get too mad at me, I'll write the next chapter tomorrow!]
