L/n - your last name

It was so bright, I could barely open my eyes. My body ached all over but it wasn't as sharp anymore. I was relieved to not be in as much pain yet I wondered where I was. It smelled of hand sanitizer and air fresheners. Due to the curiosity, I forced my eyes to open. The light on the roof nearly blinded me. Blinking rapidly to adjust to the light, I came to the realization that I was in the nurse's office. It was all very disorienting. My head was swimming and I don't remember how I got here. Hearing movement, I turned my head to the right of the room. The boy from my social class sat there, seemingly asleep. It looked like he had pulled the chair back to be in the more shadowed part of the room. I found that strange, but figured he probably didn't want to sleep with a light over him. His deep brown hair partially covered his face, but I could still see his pale face and high cheekbones. I couldn't deny the fact that he was rather attractive, but I definitely preferred Clay over this stranger. Nonetheless, was very grateful as I assumed he was my rescuer.

To confirm if he was the one who saved me or not, I said softly, "Um... hey, you excuse me?"

The boy awoke with a start. With an almost panicked look on his face, he looked around the room before his eyes locked with mine. A strange expression fell on his face but he then quickly switched it with a polite smile. "I'm so glad you're finally awake. When I saw all the damage those girls caused on you, I was really worried you'd be severely hurt. The nurse said you're pretty bruised but will be okay though."

"So you saved me?" I asked, the boy nodded. "Thank you so much. I was really scared for my life there. If you hadn't of saved me, I might've been done for."

I couldn't help but let my smile deepen. My Y/n was talking to me and thanking me. Maybe I can use this opportunity to my advantage. I could get to know her and then eventually fade anyone else out of her life as we grow closer together. It was a perfect plan! She's going to finally be mine before she even knows it.

Y/n tentatively asked, "What's your name?"

She wants to know my name? I had to contain my excitement so I don't give her any weird vibes as I said, "it's Jasper, what's yours?" Of course I already know her name but for the first month or so I'd have to walk on eggshells around her.

She repeated my name slowly, memorizing it. Then complimented it. I swear it was like she was trying to get me to jump in the air from overwhelming joy.

Jasper and I sat together in a moment's silence. To break that I questioned, "you're with me in social class, right?"

"Yeah, I am! You sit beside me." He responded, happily. I found him to be a bit off an oddball in the way he was so excited considering the predicament I'm in, but hey, everyone has theirs quirks.

"Maybe we could eat lunch together sometime? I know it's not a very good way of saying thank you, especially not if you more than likely saved my life." I joked, a little embarrassed that lunch together was all I could offer.

"Oh no! I'd love to eat lunch with you. I don't really have anybody to hangout with at lunch, so it will be perfect." He said, bouncing his knee up and down rapidly.

He doesn't have a lot of friends? That would explain the strange way he acted. It's probably just because he's socially awkward. This realization made all my suspicion of him drain. I could definitely be his friend. After all, I don't have many people I consider to be my friends. There's no way in hell Tiffany is ever going to be my friend again after that psycho edgy attack she did.

"If I'm allowed to ask, why did that girl do all this," he gestured to my beaten up body, "to you?"

He sat with a shocked expression as I explained all of the events. Jasper stood as still as a statue, clearly shaken. "I'm sorry, I know that was a lot of information." I sighed.

"No, no! I'm sorry for all that happened to you. Y/n, you seem so sweet and you really didn't deserve that." He said, his eyebrows furrowed in concern. Then an inaudible whisper, not saying it to me, but to himself, "It wasn't supposed to be like this."

"It feels nice to finally have somebody to talk to about all this." I chuckle nervously, "I usually ask for advice from Clay, but I can't this time."

Jasper finally stood up from his chair that was shrouded in shadows. He stepped towards me, stopping around twenty centimeters away. The boy then crouched down slightly and laid a hand on my shoulder in a comforting manner. "You can always come and talk to me, okay?" He murmured softly.

It took a long while to finally get out of the nurse's office. Ms. Garcia, the nurse, had to tend to all the injuries that were inflicted upon me. Luckily, nothing was permanent and I'd be fine in a week or so as long as I take it easy. The police also arrived along with my parents, considering the seriousness of the situation. My parents were worried sick and both hugged me tight in front of everyone. A police officer stepped up and my family and I discussed if we would be pressing charges. They asked for a whole rundown of what the girls did to me, it was a bit hard to bring it up again but if it means that Tiffany is going to be brought to justice, then so be it. Jasper was there for me the whole time. He occasionally had to answer a few questions from the officers, but he mainly kept his gaze fixed on me in a protective manner. In the brightness of sunlight, his eyes were almost a golden yellow. I found myself staring back at him from the uniqueness of it. Realizing what I was doing, I quickly turned away from embarrassment. Hearing him chuckle softly made me smile too.

"Miss L/n, may you please come out to see Tiffany, Rachel, Zabrena and Harper?" An officer peeks his sandy haired head in from the nurse's waiting room. The police had finally caught all the girls after they scattered. They all looked rather disheveled, as if they had finally realized the impact of their actions. I felt a twinge of pity for their distressed faces, until I thought back to all that had happened earlier this day. I stepped outside the room to see four girls sitting on plastic chairs. Standing right in front of Tiffany gave me mixed emotions. She's been a close friend for so long, except she turned completely insane over nothing but a boy. It was so bizarre and unlike her, almost as if she'd been manipulated into feeling this way. I guess I could understand her strong feelings, maybe she just didn't know how to handle it. I looked straight at Tiffany. All the other girls had regretful faces, except for her. She was stone faced, there was no remorse in her eyes and it sent a chill down my spine.

Tiffany finally looked up to me. She was dead calm but her eyes seemed frenzied. "You..." a deranged smile creeped across her face, but it was clear she was far from happy. She suddenly started shouting at me, "Clay is mine, you hear? If I find out you've stole him from me, you're freaking dead!" Two police officers ran up and restrained Tiffany before things got out of hand. A cold sweat came over my body after finally absorbing her words. My parents quickly ushered me back into the room I was previously in.

Jasper sat beside me on the bed, "it's going to be okay, Y/n. I can guarantee that those girls will never bother you again."

[Hey! I know this chapter is super late and I'm so sorry but I was busy celebrating my birthday on the 11th. I hope this chapter makes up for it though]
