__________________I'd been in Woodbury for almost a week now, despite keeping to myself and mostly staying in my newly given apartment, i'd say it was going quite well and I was definitely gaining the Governor's trust.
I met another one of the Governors men, Merle. He spoke with a prominent southern accent and when he first spoke a glimpse of Daryl flashed through my mind but I shook it off, we'd only had one proper conversation. However Daryl and Merle were not alike. Daryl saved me, maybe it didn't initiate that he cared for me but it did prove that he still had a heart.
As for Merle, he was just a selfish prick, there was no sugar coating it. I was usually quite good at reading people, having to take caution when I had no home. Merle was not a person that you'd like to be friends with.. he was sexist and racist.. I could tell that he was a man who only ever truly cared about himself, however from a distant I could see the disapproving looks he gave the Governor.
And I got all of that after one conversation.
"So how'd ya wind up in here?" Merle asked, gesturing to Woodbury, he and I were currently taking a walk through the town. The Governors plan was obvious, have one of his men check me out a little more but my plan was to get an insight of the perimeter some
more."Uhh he found me, when I was about to loot a shop, why?" I asked, snapping at him slightly. I wasn't here to make friends nor did I feel like indulging in a conversation with Merle.
"Damn, have I got ya all worked up sugar tits?" Merle smirked. I had to mentally remind myself to not throw up in the middle of the town.
"Stop thinking with your dick" I returned harshfully, he only laughed at the remark.
"You are hot as shit, i'll give that to ya" he replied, the same desperate expression still worn on his face.
"do ya wanna be here sugar tits?" Merle continued."Yes and no, you?" I questioned.
"Same" He replied , nodding his head understandingly.
After that Merle and I headed our separate ways, as I neared my apartment I noticed the Governor waiting just outside of my door.
What the fuck?
"Ah, Spencer!" He greeted far too excitedly. "Just the girl I was looking for." he continued, smiling creepily at me.
"Oh hi Governor" I spoke with a lack of confidence putting on my best fake smile, despite this man's ignorance. Could he not tell I didn't want anything to do with him.
