"What's wrong with Sarah? Hey, earth to Iris?" John B yelled.
"Give her a second, man!" JJ said protectively.
"Do I run and get her?" John B asked.
He got a quick nod from Iris and he and Pope took off as JJ and Iris stayed back.
"What did Rafe do to you?" JJ asked as he held either side of her face in his hands, trying to not lose his shit.
"It doesn't matter."
Nothing.
"Yes it does. You're upset again so clearly something happened."
"It doesn't matter because we might not see him again."
"So what's their plan-"
"I don't know what their plan is, but they're leaving. For good." She said, biting her lip to prevent the sob from coming out as JJ nodded, pulling her into his chest again.
"All of them?" JJ asked softly.
"Mhm." Iris said against his chest.
"All of them." He repeated, realizing what that meant, holding her closer, feeling the need to press his lips to her forehead.
Exactly what Rafe had done minutes prior.
Their moment was interrupted by John B running back to them.
"We gotta go, JJ!"
"Where's Pope?"
"He went after Rafe. He's trying to get the cross." John B explained, "He will catch up with us after. We gotta go help Sarah."
"Okay, uh, shit. We gotta take Iris home first."
Iris popped her head up, only for JJ to see the tears on her face, "No, what? I want to come. I got Sarah into this mess-"
JJ grabbed the sides of her face once more, "No, you didn't. They did that to her, don't blame yourself-"
"I could've got her out of there! But I didn't!"
"Why didn't you?" John B yelled.
"Hey!" JJ barked at him, as everyone went silent, "Sorry."
"I didn't because Rose made Rafe come and take me away from her so they could get her to go with them." Iris sighed, "Then he tried to convince me to go and, and, yeah, anyways, we need to go find her."
"Okay, one, no, because you've had a crazy last few days and frankly, you look exhausted."
"I'm fine, JJ."
"You're not fine, okay? Would you stop saying that you're fucking fine?" JJ sighed, "I can see how hurt you are. None of us are stupid, and truly, I'm not stupid, especially when it comes to you. I can read you like a book, alright? You're not fine, so stop telling me that you are. You know you can talk to me, about anything. You want to rant about Rafe? Tell me how much you miss and love Rafe? Go ahead. That's fine. Just don't tell lie to me when it's that easy for me to see."
