"I almost had him, you know? Then Tatum and those other two came and interrupted." Sofia ranted to JJ the next morning.
He didn't want to see Sofia again, but somehow she tracked him down.
He knew his actions were wrong last night, but how the hell did he go about telling Iris without breaking her fragile heart? Especially now that Rafe had betrayed her too.
"I think this was all a bad idea."
"What? No. You want her as much as I want him."
"I don't think I do." He snapped back, "I want her to be happy and realistically, as much as I fucking hate that guy, if he makes her happy then there's absolutely nothing I can do."
"You're just a pussy."
JJ laughed softly, "No, no I'm not because I have no problem owning up to what you tricked me into doing."
"Tricked you? You agreed!"
"Then I realized it was a horrible idea!"
"It's not a horrible idea!"
"Iris ends up with her heart broken, so yes, that's-"
"What you want, what I want! She screwed over you and him, so why shouldn't she get screwed too?"
"I'm not letting that happen to her. I'm going to tell her the truth."
"Yeah? Are you?" Sofia asked, "Because if you do, then she knows everything you said was a lie to get her back in your arms. Then what? Hm? Think she'll still trust you then?"
She had a point.
He had really fucked things up.
Iris still hadn't heard from Rafe. She hoped that he would reach out, but he hadn't. As she relaxed in the hammock, Sarah came strolling along.
"You called?"
"Took you long enough." Iris smiled as she stopped the hammock, letting Sarah get in and face her.
"What's going on?"
"The short version or the long version?"
"Short, preferably. I'll ask for details if I see fit."
"Alright." Iris huffed, "JJ got in Rafe's head, Rafe found out that JJ calls me ocean eyes and that I told him I loved him during sex." She winced briefly, as did Sarah before continuing, "And then Rafe got upset saying that those were our things and it wasn't genuine with him anymore and I said I'd do anything to prove to him that I loved him and well, he asked me to marry him."
Sarah's jaw dropped and then her lips curled up, "Wait! You're going to be my sister? Like for real, for real?"
