There's a twinkle in his eyes as he brushes against my mental walls the entire time we're with him. He tells me about himself like I don't already know his story (which is understandable since he doesn't know what I do) and not commonly known Hogwarts history. "I hope they are all giving you a great tour." He smiles. I plaster a fake smile and nod. "Oh yes, I'm loving it so far. They are even telling me some of their best pranks." Dumbledore chuckles and nods in agreement. "Oh yes, I especially loved the one where they made everyone's hair change color based on their mood."
I zone out most of what he tells us, paying just enough attention to know when to input. The feeling I always got when he came on screen was amplified now, it made me want to leave. I don't understand how the others can be so comfortable with him around. Dumbledore decides he needs to go and bids us goodbye, heading back to his office. I wait a few moments until he's completely gone. "I don't like him."
"What why?" They all ask at the same time. "Did you all not feel him caressing your mind? I was mentally harassed here!" I whisper shouted as I cross my arms and turn away in frustration. Sirius sighs and pulls me to his chest "no she's right, I felt it too."
We finish off our tour, my mood now ruined, and I lead them to the seventh floor corridor. I have them stop while I walk back and forth in front of the blank wall across from the tapestry of Barnabas and Barmy teaching trolls ballet. 'I need a place to hide something. I need to hide something. I need to hide an object.' A door appears on the empty wall "woah. Where'd that door come from?" Lily asks.
"This, my friends, is the door to the room of requirement or also known as the room of hidden things. You just gotta know what to ask for it to appear." Lily's eyes light up in excitement. "No way! Really?" I nod, "Behind this door is going to be piles of lost objects going as far back as Hogwarts creation." We all entered and took a look around at everything and the boys looked like they were in candy land for the first time. "It should be two lefts, a right, another left, then right once more. It would be discolored and in a pile of other tiaras." James and Sirius just about ran off, not listening to what I've said. "Okay guys if you're going to go off on your own you need to draw a magic line behind you so you won't get lost. Some of these items are cursed."
Lily and I sighed along with Remus. "At least they listened to cast a magic line." She says pointing at the red and purple lines on the floor. "Well you two, let's go find that crown." We walked for a while taking everything in, taking anything that was in good condition or could be saved. There were a few explosions and laughter at the other side of the room. "At least we know they are alive." Remus says as he picks up what looks like something that used to be a book. We take our third left when we bump into Sirius and James. They were stained in different colors, their clothes had burn marks, and James' glasses were cracked.
We get them cleaned up and drag them with us the rest of the way. "Alright, it's definitely one of these. I can feel the dark energy coming from this pile. Just don't put any of them on." I enlarge my backpack and pull out the box as the others begin to rifle through the different crowns. "What does it look like?"
"It kind of looks like bird wings with a big blue gem in the middle." Lily spots it first and grabs hold of it. Just as she goes and hands it to me there's a piercing scream that makes us cover our ears. "You stupid mudblood! You think you could wear the sacred Diadem of Ravenclaw. You're nothing but worthless filth!"
Lily's face turns red in anger. "Stupid? I'll have you know I graduated TOP OF MY CLASS YOU WORTHLESS PIECE OF METAL. I BET THE RUMORS ABOUT YOU ARE FALSE YOU STUPID PIECE OF-" I take the diadem from her and quickly put it in the box and lock it away. Lily visibly calms and blushes once it's gone. "Oh my goodness, I'm sorry. I don't know what came over me." All of us looked shocked at her mood swing.
