After the tears were done and they were calm they went out to the table. All nineteen of them sat at a table. Some standing, others sitting in pairs. All looking at the same map.
They altered it so it looked as if there were red marker scribbles on it but in reality, it was Dustin's attempt to draw the gate.
"So, how do we go about this?" He finally breaks the silence they had.
Everyone erupted with ideas.
"We shoot down everything we see and then El closes it off for good this time." Someone yelled out.
"We did that last time and how did that turn out!" Another yelled.
"What if we kill Henry Creel and then close the gates?" Everyone then shut up because that was all they could think of.
"Ok! What do we know about the gates and the monsters?" Dustin, the head of clarity finally speaks.
"The gates? Nothing. We have no idea how deep they are and if they are fatal." Steve says.
"The monsters? Same as before. The Demogorgon. Same, creepy, tall faceless creatures, we don't know what they are doing at the moment but they did surface through the gates. Demo-Dogs. They are guarding the gates. Then the bats. Guarding as well, but as we saw before we got here, some are either getting food, or trying to get El. Then the Flayer. We haven't seen it. But Hopper and Joyce say they saw it in the base we were at." Murray informs.
"So what do we do, we need a battle plan or we're screwed." Dustin says.
"What if we all found a way to cross to the upside down and we all attack Henry as El tries to defeat Him in the mindscape we'll call it, when we win and get back over, she closes the gates up." He speaks up. Pointing to the center of the scribbled "x" on the map. Everyone seemed to like this plan.
"El, do you think you'll be able to do this? I don't want you hurting yourself out there because you went over your limit." He asks his sister. She nods, confident in her powers. Alright.
"Everyone rest. I got a call earlier, and the government said they evacuated everyone and they are out of town. They are under the impression that it was a really bad earthquake, we have one month to fix the gates. We probably won't sleep again after this for a while." Hopper tells everyone.
Lucas and Erica looked at each other with an uneasy expression. Of course they were uneasy. Their parents must be worried sick about their two, only children. Missing. After an earthquake and running from the police.
Everyone was uneasy, with no way to tell their families 'I'm safe'. He was lucky, his mom and brother were helping.
"Hey, it'll be fine, you'll see them soon." He whispered to Lucas and Erica. Lucas looked baffled, his mind was just read like a book in front of him.
They all were tired of the past few things that happened. They all disbursed. There was the master bedroom, the guest room, and a pullout couch bed.
But there were plenty of blankets and pillows and the ground.
Three people could fit on the pullout. Five in the master and four in the guest room. That meant seven unlucky people were sleeping on the floor.
He was fine with sleeping on the floor, he just needed a minute to be comfortable. After a minute he felt Boris come by.
"Very long, confusing day. No?" He whispered into Will's ear as he pulled him closer to hug him. Will only had the energy to hum back. As he comforted the hug he felt his eyelids flutter and then he was asleep.
—-------------------------------------------------
He woke up in a cold sweat, from a nightmare, he couldn't remember it but he remembered the feeling. Entirely Alone and scared, a constant ringing in the background.
He got up and made sure he didn't wake Boris or anyone else. He got a glass of water from the kitchen which thankfully, did not have any sleeping bodies.
If he remembered correctly, he, Boris, Steve, Eddie, Nancy, Johnathon, and Argyle slept on the floor. Everyone else, squished together to be on a bed.
It was early, but too early, still dark out. He could wake up at a later time. Right now he was barely awake. So he crept back to 'bed' with Boris. This time, he hugged him closer. Body warmth. Boris unconsciously hugged back. He's warm. Will's cold. He probably didn't even need the blanket, Boris had a very warm body temperature. He could be a blanket. His blanket.
He couldn't sleep. No matter how he turned. He just couldn't.
