He got dragged pretty far out, he knew some of these landmarks. He had to get up or they'll come back for more. He instantly shot up and started a jog.
Then he forgot about the vines.
One wrapped around his leg. Whack! He hit a tree. That's gonna bruise. He thought to himself. He definitely hurt his ribs. He felt everything turn black. A vine climbing up to his mouth.
He woke up. Pain shooting everywhere
"What the fuck." He said when he saw vines in his legs. He looked through his bag that he managed to keep with him and found it, a small handgun, but also not a handgun. He shot it up and watched as it let a green light go through the sky.
Then he saw something move. It was a demo dog. He needed something to protect himself. He fumbled for his pocket knife and quickly brought himself up not minding the pain. He watched as, not one, not two, but three demo dogs ran out. Then he felt it. These ones were different. They felt like him. He dropped the knife and watched as they came closer. Something must've happened as one of them rubbed against his leg. He felt as if something was shared.
One of them ran out, he was awestruck. It came back with a demo bat. It dropped the bat on his lap and nudged the dead thing closer.
He grabbed it and he took a bite, it was raw, and bloody but it tasted okay and that was all he needed to keep eating the thing.
He finished it, and gave the bones to the dogs. They were happy to feed on those. He tried to get up. It was painful at first but he got used to it.
He started to walk and the dogs walked along. They looked back and forth and side to side. For something.
He could feel everything they felt. It was amazing. And if he closed his eyes he could see what they saw.
The trees and everything are just white outlines on a black tarp and he could see thermal energy from his body.
He got out of the forest to the open where he got dragged away, he could tell by his drag marks, to find the teams all together fighting whether they should go into the forest at all. He could hear all the pros and cons. He could see that Boris and Mike got into a fight, they were bruised and Boris had a bloody nose that seemed to be drying.
"What if it's a trap!" Mike's voice yelled.
"Da but William is out there, he must be in trouble!" He heard boris' voice. And a few voices agreed with him.
"I'm right here." He says. Everyone turned silent. He can't blame them; he's most likely bloodied, has spiked vines poking out of his torso, and has three demodogs at his side.
"Dogs!" Nancy yelled and grabbed her rifle. Everyone started yelling and screaming for him to move out of the way.
His dogs hid behind his legs. "It's fine! They're fine! They're mine!" Everyone stopped, dead in their tracks. "What." Nancy finally broke the piercing silent. "Remember after you guys first got me back? I-I started vomiting slugs, and at the time I didn't think anything of it. But now look at them. I think it has to do something with these vines? They attached themselves to me and now the dogs sort of came to me." He sort of showcased the vines on his torso.
He didn't know whenever Boris started running at him and encased him in the tightest hug, as tight as he could get without piercing himself, it sort of hurt. "Eep-" he let out. "Oh sorry, sorry!" Boris apologized. Wiping tears from his bruised cheeks he must've have gotten in a fight with someone, and passing him his rifle. He kept it. He cried. Just because you are weak. Too weak to fight them off.
"No, no, I just didn't expect it." He said. Mom came closer and gave him a slightly looser hug. "Don't do that ever again you hear me! I will tape you to my back if I have to!" She starts attacking him in kisses. "Mom!"
