Chapter 10

The next day I've got dada with professor umbridge. Mattheo and I walk to class together as everyone had already gone. "Oi give that back" I laugh as Mattheo takes my book out my hand and runs into the classroom. "No can do princess" He replies laughing. "Mr Riddle give Miss Potter her book back and take a seat" umbridge Says. I hate her already. Mattheo and I take a seat behind Draco and Tom. "Today we are learning about Bogarts. Can anyone tell me what they are" umbridge starts "Miss Granger" "A Boggart is a shape-shifting creature that will assume the form of whatever most frightens the person who encounters it." Hermione says. "Right, now everyone line up in front of the cabinet  and you will take it in turns to face it" Umbridge says. "You first" I laugh looking at Mattheo. "But ladies first" Mattheo laughs. "I insist sir" I laugh standing behind him. "Your so annoying" He whispers. After a couple people it gets to Mattheo's turn. "Stand ready Mr Riddle" Umbridge opens the cabinet. A chicken walks out of the cabinet. Everyone starts laughing. "Riddikulus" Mattheo says pointing his wand to the chicken. "Who knew Mattheo Riddle would be afraid of such a cute animal" I laugh behind him. "Shut it, they are not cute" He says looking back at me.

Next it was my turn. I walked up to the cabinet as Umbridge opens the door. Voldemort exits the cabinet. At that moment I forgot everything. Mattheo jumps in front of me pushing me back as the chicken appears again. "Riddikulus" He says. He turns back to me "Y/n, are you okay" He says looking concerned. "Yeah, I'm umm fine" I say as I leave the classroom with Mattheo following behind.

I go up to the astronomy tower and sit down on the ledge. Mattheo sits beside me. "Y/n I will never let him hurt you" He says putting his arms around me. "I'm not scared that's he's gunna hurt me. Im scared he's going to hurt you" I say resting my head on his shoulder. "If everything goes to plan he won't hurt me" Mattheo says hoping to reassure me. "But what if it doesn't" "It will I promise" He says looking out at the sky. We sit there in silence for another 5 minutes. "Why are you afraid of chickens" I laugh. "Your just going to laugh if I tell you" He says as I stop laughing. "I won't, promise" I say trying not to laugh. "When I was younger one of those demons chased me around my front garden" I immediately start laughing. "See told you, you would laugh" He says now looking at me in the eyes. "They aren't demons" I say. "Yes they are" He starts laughing now too. "No there not" I start laughing even harder. "Your cute when you laugh" Mattheo whispers. "What?" I say not laughing anymore. "I didn't say anything" He denies. "Did Mr Riddle just call me cute" He goes bright red as I say this. "Come on we should go see the others" He says not answering me.

When we get back go the common room the others are sat on the sofa talking. Draco see us both walk through the door. "Guys look it's chicken boy" Draco says standing up with Tom. They both flap their arms about making chicken noises. I burst out laughing, so does everyone else except Mattheo. "It's not funny!" He shouts making the others sit down. "It kind of is" I say still laughing. "Y/n not again" Theo whispers under his breath so no one could hear it not wanting Mattheo and I to get into another fight. "Oh yeah do you, is this funny then" He smirks starting to tickle me. "Okay okay stop" I say laughing, He doesn't stop. "What's the magic word?" He says laughing. "Please" I say and he stops. "Your so annoying" I laugh sitting down next to pansy. "Your even more annoying" He says sitting opposite it me and in between Theo and Tom. "You two seem to be getting closer" Blaise says. "Yeah what's up with that" Tom adds. "Nothings up with it" Mattheo says looking at me laughing. "Aren't we allowed to be friends" I say laughing with Mattheo. "Chicken boy and muggle girl definitely like each other" Draco laughs. "What's with the nicknames" Mattheo says frowning. "And I'm not 'muggle girl' Just because I lived in the muggle world doesn't mean I'm not stronger than you" I say directly to Draco, which stops him from laughing. "That's my girl" Mattheo says laughing again. "There is no way he just said that" Theo says laughing. "He definitely did" Blaise laughs.

After a little while of all of us hanging out which was nice Mattheo and I went back to his dorm. "Stay here tonight" Mattheo says pulling me on top of him on the bed. "Maybe" I laugh rolling off him and lying down next to him. "Please" He laughs turning to face me. "Your such an idiot" I laugh. "Well would I still be an idiot if I asked you on a date tomorrow night?" Mattheo says looking at me nervously. "Yes you would still be an idiot." I laugh. "But I would love too" He pulls me in and wraps his arms around me. My head is now on his chest. I lie there with my eyes closed listening to his heart beat. He kisses me on the head making me smile. I eventually fall asleep still in his arms.
