CHAPTER - 1 WHO IS THE NEXT CHIEF MINISTER?

It has been 15 days, Abhimanyu lost his father to an accident. Abhimanyu had a hunch that it was a murder but he had to wait until Vikranth opens his eyes. And he didn't want to think about the guy for his own reasons. He would have had Vikranth shifted to his home long ago, but he himself was in chaos to bring a COMA patient into his home. The police did their investigation but of no use. They declared that it as an accident.

Thousands of people poured in to take a last look of their beloved Chief Minister. Hundreds of VIPs, Chief Ministers of other states, Business associates and rivals, Political associates and rivals.....none skipped the event. Skipping the even would put them all in a bad books infront of media obviously but that isn't what they are bothered about. Skipping the event would unintentionally bring them under Abhimanyu Vardhaan Roy's radar. They all respected Vishal enough to attend the event but more than that, they feared Vishal's eldest son to skip the event.

With people's flow in and out of the house constantly, Abhimanyu increased the security 10 times. Devansh was completely house arrested. A media reporter dared to approach him and asked him inappropriate questions. Abhimanyu blasted off the security and ordered Devansh not to come out till he says so. No one dared to defy Abhimanyu when he unfairly ordered Devansh to not step out.

While ROYs were dealing with their loss, their political party, media, and a larger section of the state, were curious about their new Chief Minister. There are three potential candidates in the discussions that spread around.

A) The Ajay Kumar - Current Affair's Minister, Vishal's right hand man, trusted man by the ROYs but always had the desire for power.

B) Abhimanyu Vardhaan Roy - Vishal's eldest son, India's top most businessman feared and respected by everyone, funds the ruling central government, off the records.

C) Mahima Roy Mukherjee - Vishal's adopted sister but sister none the less, Health Minister, A true feminist.

Ajay Kumar knew Abhimanyu was never interested in Politics. But he also knew that when it comes to his father, that man would do anything with or without his own wish. As far as Mahima is concerned, the ministers would prefer male than a female any day to rule them. He also knew the bitter relationship between Roys and Mahima. He was pretty sure that he is going to be the next CM.

Mahima Roy Mukherjee on the other hand, had to consider Ajay as her competitor even though she knew that the man wouldn't be even looking at her with that thought even in his dreams. That's a big blow to her feminine ego but she could swallow it if she had to become the next Chief Minister. She is never the one to give up. All she had to do was make Abhimanyu talk in her favor. Sadly, none of Vishal's sons are neither interested nor capable of politics. She is their only option because she knew they would love to keep all the control in the family. And she is family now, isn't she?!

None is aware of Abhimanyu's intentions but his family was sure that neither Ajay nor Mahima would have his favour. Akshara would love her husband to be the Chief Minister, but she knew he isn't made for that role. And she also knew a perfect candidate. The guy might be a little young but that is exactly what their state needs right now. Young, fresh and the new age politics. Only then would start the change.

Abhimanyu was in his study lost in his thoughts. Akshara came to call her husband for the dinner. It has been 15 days family ate together. Everyone was being aloof. Her brothers in law were acting as if nothing happened. She couldn't blame them because they never had any attachment with their father since childhood. When he wanted to grow a bond, the sons were not ready for any relationship with him. The most affected was her husband. She knew what her father-in-law meant to her husband. He didn't even get time to grieve over his father's death. He had to handle all the mess. Vikranth in COMA wasn't a good news either. Its just killing her from inside.
