Roy House....
Roy brothers took their seats on the breakfast table. It was a routine for the Roys to have their breakfasts and dinners mostly together. 2 Roys' were missing. The eldest Roy, Vishal and the youngest, Devansh.
Vishal Vardhaan Roy, West Bengal's Chief Minister, is currently in Kerala. It was a tradition for him to visit Kerala on that particular day, for reasons unknown to his family. The information of his little vacation is known only to the family. He is accompanied by his personal Bodyguard appointed by his eldest son, who is very loyal, who shares a very close relationship with the ROYs.
Coming to the youngest Roy, The boy doesn't have bad habits like waking up on his own in the morning.
Abhimanyu Vardhaan Roy felt restless. He could sense that something was wrong. He already called his father's bodyguard, Vinod, ten times to make sure his father is fine. He looked at his family who never failed to calm him down with their presence. As expected, a small smile made its way to his lips, easing him a bit.
When he observed that Devansh, his youngest brother, was missing, he frowned "Dev kaha hai?"
Siddharth chipped in, buttering his bread, "Aur kaha hoga? So raha hoga. When was the last time Prince woke up early?" He shook his head, clearly annoyed with his younger brother.
Siddharth winced and looked at his bhaiyyu with a scowl who kicked his leg under the table. He would have complained about it if Abhimanyu didn't interfere, "Ye ladka bahut pitga mujhse ek din. Roz subha late ut tha hai and college ke liye late ho jata hai. And then he over speeds to his college." He shook his head in disappointment. Dev has recently started his shenanigans on Over speeding with his new car. One day, he is going to get his car seized.
Anirudh, who understood that situation might slip out of hands, got up to volunteer, "Mai uthadunga use bhaiyya."
Akshara walked out of the kitchen with the Hot Parathas, followed by Nimisha, who was just giving Akshara company because cooking is not her thing.
"You sit and have breakfast Ani. Mai uthadungi use." Akshara ordered Anirudh to sit back because she had higher chances of waking up their Prince.
Abhimanyu threw a disgusted look to the duo, "Tum logon ki laad pyar ki vajah se vo aisa banta jaa raha hai. Khud use kuch kehte nahi hain. Na hi mujhe use kuch kehne dete hain. The boy is getting out of hands Akshara. Don't come to me when you realise it." He warned.
Anirudh and Siddharth rolled their eyes. Nimisha ignored him. It was their daily routine. It was an open secret that Abhimanyu Vardhaan Roy spoiled his youngest child rotten.
Akshara glared her husband, like a typical mother bear she is, "Subah subah koi kaam nahi hai aapko? Mere bache ke peeche kyu pade ho."
"He is 19, Akshara. Define bacha?"
Anirudh chuckled but immediately coughed in pretense when his bhabhi directed her glare to him.
"Mere liye bacha hi hai voh." She declared ignoring the moron ROY brothers, "You better not scold him in the morning. I am warning you."
Anirudh, Nimisha and Siddharth laughed out loudly as Akshara walked away to wake their prince up. Abhimanyu took a deep breathe but did nothing to stop their laugh which kind of soothed his restless and agitated heart.
Akshara dragged her youngest, Dev, out of his bed and threw him in the washroom. That worked because after 15 minutes, the boy came down sleepily rubbing his eyes followed by Akshara behind him.
He straight went to Abhimanyu and bent down to hug him from back, chirping, "Good Morning Bhaiyya." Abhimanyu slightly tilted his head and kissed his boy's temple affectionately, before he ruffled his hair with a smile, "Good Morning, bacha."
Anirudh raised his eyebrows before he shared a knowing look with Siddharth. They resumed their breakfast and Dev was literally swallowing the food as he is getting late to the college.
"Dheere Dheere kha Dev. Tu tho humesha hi college late jata hai. Aaj kya ho jayega. Khana thus mat." He spoke, in order to remind his brother the etiquettes.
Dev glared his BigB, "Mai humesha time pe hi pahunchtha hu." He would never agree his shortcomings and that just proves the fact that he is still 19 and child.
Everyone had to stop the urge to roll their eyes while Abhimanyu had to control his urge to point out at Devansh's over speeding.
Everyone but Nimisha, "Isliye tho Ani roz tumare lecturer ko call karte hai to excuse you, right?"
Devansh simply ignored her and concentrated on his food.
"Comeon yaar Nimi. He is just a child!" Anirudh defended his brother.
Nimisha shook her head. Her husband loved the boy way too much that she could handle. She didn't believe in over-pampering. Her love and affection only went until a point where it would give you safety, security and trust.
Dev solved the problem by hugging her, as he finished his breakfast, "Bacha hu na main Bhabhi. Agar mai shararate karna chod diya na, aap sab mujhe bahut miss karoge." He stated the obvious. And Nimisha had nothing to disagree. She might not spoil a child but she will miss the spoiled child.
Abhimanyu didn't even like the sound of it. Devansh was light of his home, "Tu jo chahe kare, Dev but no speeding the car, ok. You got caught 3 times this month by traffic police already. One more complaint, you can kiss good bye to your car for the next 3 months." He used his final astra.
Devansh's face paled. Siddharth laughed. His bhaiyya very well knew how to toe them on the line. Dev would not speed again, not atleast for the next 1 month.
Roys were having breakfast peacefully, throwing playful jokes and insults. Abhimanyu felt an uneasy feeling settling in again and just then, he got a call.
Whatever he heard from the other side made him numb. His eyes watered as he looked at his family. They were all happy.
Akshara observed Abhimanyu, "Kya hua, Abhi?"
Abhimanyu' voice choked – "Dad......"
Akshara saw the tears in her husband's eyes, "Kya hua, Papa ko?"
Abhimanyu shook his head, "Dad is no more."
Akshara broke down into tears as Abhimanyu pulled her into his embrace. Vishal Roy was not just her father-in-law, she love him like her father.
Anirudh and Siddharth didn't know how to react. That was their father. The father who left his responsibility of family on his eldest son to take care of the society. They were very proud of him for that. But they couldn't help the hate at the same time.
Nimisha couldn't hold back her tears well. Despite being an orphan, the man always treated her like his daughter. For the man, she was no different than Akshara.
Devansh felt bad, that is it.
"Be strong for me Akshara, Please." Abhimanyu whispered, battling his tears. He loved his father more than anything. He is the only parent he ever had.
"Kaise hua yeh Abhi?" Akshara sobbed.
"Accident." Abhimanyu spoke monotonously.
