*SOBER: I am Conscious*
*By: Ogunbiyi Victor (Xenialink)*Cried all night, hurt both eyes
Tears flows from inside, enough to swim
Venus fly trap caught my flies
Watch them fight to survive, enough to film
Cruelty found its allies
Though it is dark, but got its beam;
I have sold my heart to feel less
Need long break from too much pain
Thought of being good but was fierce
Got damaged but won’t happen again
Moved like I had to control my gears
Better for me, I was fain
I have an increase in age
Will it be the same? I gazed
I have done a lot now I take my wage
But I still think I have been caged
Men are to pay up debts
Not with money, it is obvious
Debts from ancestors to parents
Those times are over, now I am conscious!
The man whose spit is on me
Tends to be the one I’ve always trusted
I can forgive, why can’t they forgive me
Why can’t they remember all the good I did
Hitherto: you have to be cruel to see your real friends
Advantages, life is an advantage
We’ve got opportunity to live in it
We only live once
But do what’s good
Once you’re gone, the deceit will rise
Envy, plenty will envy you
You will also envy people
Do what you can
Your best must be appreciated
Don’t hate!
Life is shorter than to be wasted on hate
Trust everyone you think you love
And be bitten from behind!
Are we what we are?
Are we what we want to be?
Let’s check and balance it up
Our ways are tightly rough
Haven’t we seen enough?
What we believe is what we become
The more our understanding;
The less our believe will be
How can a Man live without difficulties?
Or how can he be strong if he doesn’t fall?
We are all created also to teach
The good way, or the other
Billions of head present on this planet
But yet, you can’t be same as anyone
Your best is another man’s least
Your least could be a man’s best
We are not equal, we can never be
We always have to complain
Say negative words against another
Smiling at all times, but behind is wickedness
We will always learn lessons everyday
Only the wise will graduate from it
We have Life to be our school
As experience, our best teacher.
I’m plodding my way through;
I have more to do
My arms are getting weaker;
But I still have to carry more
Ease me from my stress;
So I can carry my weakness
The bigger the problem I carry;
The weaker my mind will be
I’m in a race of many things
But I Plod a’long though
If patience was a woman;
The world would have ended by now
They are the beginning of every man’s problem
But they Plod a’long though
We can run from them easily
Neither can we run to them easily as well
I’m happy as I am
Getting more tired as I move
But I’m still pushing on*Poem Composed by OGUNBIYI VICTOR*
