Matt has a nightmare

Matt tried to be brave by watching a horror movie but ended up having a nightmare

Matt POV

It was a Friday night, which meant that it was a movie night!! I loved movie nights. It was always a tradition in our family and we continued it even when we moved to LA.

Tonight, it was Chris's turn to pick the movie. Nick was sleeping over at Maddies house, which meant it was only me and Chris tonight. I poured a bowl of popcorn and candy as I waited for Chris to pick a movie.

"Ok matty I got the perfect movie for tonight" Chris said while exiting his room

"What is it?" I asked

"It's called Smile. Oliver and Sabrina said it was really good"

"Isn't that a horror movie? I heard its really scary"

"Yeah, cmon Matt, don't be a baby"

"I never said I was a scared"

I wasn't that scared but I also wasn't that brave either. I always had mixed feelings about horror movies. I was never scared of those dumb ones where there was a murderer chasing them but there were a few times where certain movies got to me.

Like one time, we were watching a movie about a man secretly living in someone else's home. I got scared and I wasn't able to sleep. I decided to go to Nicks room, since I knew Chris would just make fun of me, and asked him if I could sleep with him that night. After that, Nick was the only one who knew about my fear of horror movies (only certain ones) and if I ever got too scared, I could just squeeze his hand and he'll pull me aside to do something else and allow me to sleep in his bed.

But since it was just me and Chris this time, there was no way I could just chicken out. Chris would just make fun of me and I did not want that to happen.

We brought the snacks into the living room then Chris turned on the movie. Usually I'd be sitting right next to Nick during a horror movie but he was not here. I sat on the opposite side of the couch, away from chris, so he wouldn't see me if I had to cover my eyes or look away.

We weren't even halfway through the movie and I was terrified as fuck. By now I would've told Nick and he would've pulled me aside to do some diamond paintings but now I have to sit here and watch the movie.

I had a blanket wrapped around me that covered 75% of my sight so if I saw something too scary, I could quickly cover it. Unfortunately chris noticed and said,

"Why the hell are you covering your eyes for?"

"I'm not, I'm just cold" I lied

I was actually the opposite of cold. I already had a hoodie and sweats on so the blanket just made the heat worse. I knew Chris didn't believe me but what was I supposed to say? "I'm covering my eyes because this movie is too scary for me and I'm a baby" No, I was not gonna say that.

After what felt like days, the movie finally ended. Unfortunately it didn't end on a good ending. The ending was actually the scariest bit.

"That wasn't that bad" Chris said while turning off the TV

"Mhm"

It wasn't that bad? That was the scariest thing ever created! I want to believe that I'm equally as tough as Chris but now I know for sure that I'm not.

"Anyways I'm gonna go to bed" Chris yawned, "Turn off the lights when you leave"

Shit. He's making me turn off the lights right after watching the most terrifying movie ever. I saw him go downstairs to his room and now I'm alone in the living room. I put our snack bowls into the sink and washed my hands. I was always looking behind me to make sure there was no smiling person behind me. Now it was time for the most scariest part. Turning off the lights. Unfortunately, the switches were all the way towards Nicks stair case. I counted to 3 as I turned off the lights and sprinted towards my room. I was probably being super loud but I didn't care. Luckily I made it to my room safely.

I thought it would be best for me to just go to sleep right away. So I turned off the lights and flopped on my bed. I tried to sleep but I couldn't. I couldn't stop thinking about the movie. It felt like there was a someone hiding in the dark that I couldn't see. I was just laying there for 2 hours, still not being able to fall asleep. I was so tired but I couldn't sleep. I even started crying just to make me fall asleep. Turns out crying does help and I was able to fall asleep.

3:59 am

I suddenly woke up shaking in fear. I was trembling. The last thing I remembered was a smiling girl breaking into my room. I hugged my pug plushie and curled up on my bed crying. I didn't even feel safe in my room anymore. I slowly got up, carrying my blanket and pug, and quickly went downstairs to Chris's room.

Third POV

Matt walked up to Chris room and slowly opened the door. He saw that chris was sleeping. Matt didn't want to wake him up but he was already in his room.

"Chris..." Matt whispered while shaking him

Chris woke up instantly

"Matt?" He mumbled while turning to look at him

He saw that Matt's eyes were red and had tears falling down

"Omg, are you ok matt?"

Matt nodded

"C-can I sleep next to you" he asked

"Of course but tell me what's wrong" Chris said while making room for matt

"I had a nightmare..." Matt said while getting in the bed

"About what?"

"The movie..."

Matt didn't know if he should've told him abt the nightmare but what else would he say?

"Oh sweetheart" Chris said while pulling matt closer to him by his waist "you don't have to be scared alright? It's just a movie"

"I know but it was scary" Matt said into Chris's chest

"I know it was but it's not real! And if it was, me and Nick would always protect you"

Matt was surprised by Chris's behavior. He thought that Chris would make fun of him for being scared, like he does to Nick, but he wasn't. Maybe because it was the middle of the night but Matt wasn't complaining. They ended up cuddling and falling asleep.

10:36 am

Nick came back. He was expecting to see Chris on the couch but he wasn't there. He went to Matt's room, expecting him to still be sleeping, but he wasn't there. Nick walked downstairs to Chris's room. When he opened the door, he saw Matt and Chris cuddling on the bed. Nick smiled at them and took a pic to post on his Snapchat.

Since that day, Matt wasn't afraid to tell Nick or Chris if he was too scared. When he was, he was always invited to sleep in Nicks or Chris's room. Matt began to feel super safe with his brothers and he loved them so so much <3

AHHHH this was so cute!!

Since this was mainly a matt and Chris chapter, I want to make a Nick and Matt chapter but idk what to do

Also I'm starting to run out of ideas, I still have some but requests would be super helpful so thanks!!
