Third POV

"CHRIIISSS" Matt ran into Chris's room and flopped on his bed, "LOOK WHAT I GOOOT"

Matt showed him two tickets that were for the annual circus show that night. Every year, the circus travels all around the country to perform in every state. When they lived in Boston, he and Chris used to go to that circus every single year. They never missed a year. Their dad would always take them while Nick and their mom stayed at home (cuz Nick doesn't like circuses). When they moved to LA, Chris and Matt still went to those circuses every year. This year would be their 10 year anniversary, which was very important to Matt.

"I got us front row tickets cause this is gonna be our 10th time going to the circus! It starts in about an hour, if we hurry, we can get lights and cotton candy!!" Matt said

"Oh uhh sorry matty. Me, Nick, and Madi are going karaoke tonight" Chris said

"What? Why didn't you tell me?"

Chris felt super bad. Matt sounded so excited for the circus and he just shattered his heart.

"I didn't know the circus was tonight and you bought tickets. Plus you don't like karaoke. Remember last time we went you just stood outside for an hour cause you hated how loud it was and you were too embarrassed to sing" Chris laughed, hoping to light up the mood

But Matt didn't look too happy. He had his head down and it looked like he was gonna cry. Chris sighed.

"Look Matt, I'm sorry I can't go today. But there's another show tomorrow night! Why don't we save those tickets and go there tomorrow?" Chris ruffled Matt's hair

Matt looked up at him.

"Promise?" Matt asked

"Pinky promise" Chris smiled

"Okay!" Matt hopped back up and skipped out his room.

Chris laughed at how quickly his brothers mood changed.

The next evening

"CHRIIISSS" Matt barged into Chris's room again.

"Shit!" Chris jumped in surprise

This time, Chris was on his phone, talking to someone?

"Who is that?" The girl on the phone asked

"Oh uh nothing. I'll be back, just give me a moment" Chris said and muted himself and the speaker

"My god Matt, can you at least knock next time?" Chris groaned

"Oh yeh, sorry. Who are you talking to?" Matt asked

"A girl I met yesterday when me Nick and Madi went out to karaoke. She's really nice" Chris smiled

"Oh cool. Anyways, I'm so excited for tonight!! Are you almost ready, it starts in an hour" matt jumped

Chris's eyes widened. He completely forgot about the circus and has already made plans with someone else.

"Oh.. uh.. about that..." Chris scratched his neck

"Huh?"

"Im already going out with this girl tonight so... I can't go to the circus"
