Matt has a hyper-fixation and Nick and Chris try to snap him out of it

Third POV

Matt has been diagnosed with ADHD since he was 11. It was never that serious until later when he turned 16. That was when it really started affecting him. He started becoming more forgetful and had trouble staying still. Those last two years of school became the most troubling for Matt. Luckily, he was able to still graduate on time, but his adhd never got any better.

Once the three of them moved out, Matt's forgetfulness became worse and he had a harder time focusing. Every time they film, they always have tap Matt's arm to make sure he even knows what's going on. Although Matt sometimes feels like a burden cause of his problems, Nick and a Chris are very understanding and always comfort/help him when they need to.

Nick POV

Me and Chris just came back from the gym and we're heading home. Our New Years resolution was to go to the gym every other day cause we wanted to gain muscle. We tried to bring Matt with us but he hates the gym. When we brought him with us one day, he ended up lifting a 5lb dumbbell then sat on the bench for the rest of the time.

When we arrived home, we expected Matt to shout a greeting to us. But when we entered the house, there was nothing. There was only sound coming from the TV. We walked up the stairs and saw Matt sitting cris-crossed on the table playing with legos.

"Hey matty" Chris said

Matt didn't respond

"Matt?" Chris questioned

Matt didn't respond again. He just kept continuing on his build. I walked towards him.

"Matt hun, can you get off the table?" I asked while grabbing his waist, in an attempt to carry him off.

But he smacked my arms away.

"Why are you not talking?"

Again, there was so response. I knew exactly what was happening.

"He's hyper-fixated" I said

It wasn't common for Matt to get hyper-fixated on things but the doctors told us it could happen ever since he was diagnosed. It only happened about 4 times and every time I happened, it took a long time to get him to snap out of it. Whenever Matt is hyper-fixated, he spaces out and isn't responsive, making it way more difficult than it should be. Plus, Matt is literally in love with legos so this is just gonna be even harder.

"You're right" Chris said, "try get him to snap out of it"

"Matt, are you there?" I said shaking his shoulders.

Still no response. I snapped my fingers in front of his face but it didn't do anything. He was still playing with the legos. Usually mom was the one to get him to snap out but she obviously wasn't here.

"Do you remember what mom did?" I asked Chris

"I have no idea. All I remember her saying was to never hurt him, no matter how fixated he is" Chris said, "want me to call her?"

"No, it's 1am in Boston. She won't pick up"

We began trying everything to snap him out. We played an alarm, played random notification sounds on his phone, acted like we were in danger, and even squirted some ketchup into a bowl and placed it right next to him. Still no reaction or response. We thought about throwing a tennis ball to his head but it would most likely hurt him and that was the last thing we wanted to do.
