Chapter 7

Maya's POV
"Finally we are home!" I yelled jumping out of the car.
I ran into the house and dropped my bag on my bed.
"Maya is that you?" I herd a voice say from my dads room.
I walked into his room and seem my mom sitting on his bed.
"Dad! You have a visitor!" I yelled as I just looked at my mom.
"Is it that rat again?" He asked as he can down the hall.
"Better," I laughed.
"Maya nothing's there," he said.
"But I seen Mom she was sitting on the bed," I said.
"Maya sweetie your tired why don't you go and get some sleep?" He said
I nodded and walked to my room and shut the door.
*next morning*
"Maya! Time for school," my dad yelled.
I rolled over a checked the time 5:30 same as always. I got up and got dressed and went out to the kitchen and poured myself coffee.
"Have a good day at school sweetie," my dad said as he kissed my head and left the house.
I walked over to the counter and unplugged my phone and then walked out to the living room and sat on the couch. I texted Josh.
Messages between Josh and Maya.
Maya: hey 😘
Josh: hey gorgeous!
Maya: how was your weekend?
Josh: good I hung out with my sister actually.
Maya: you mean Morgan was in town?
Josh: yeah she wanted to meet you but you weren't here.
Maya: sorry I was hanging with my dad.
Josh: it's okay I know how important family is to you.
Maya: it wasn't a choice to go he made me go but I had fun
Josh: that's all that matters. besides morgan will be back in a couple months you will meet her then.
maya: sounds good to me.
Josh: I'm driving by you wanna get breakfast and then go to school?
Maya: yes I'm starving!
Josh: get your stuff and let's go I'm out here.
Maya: okay! 😊
Messages over
I ran to my room and put on my shoes and grabbed my bag and ran out the door.
"Hey princess!" Josh said as I got into his car.
"Hey Prince Charming," I said as I hugged him.
"Where to?" he asked.
"Ihop!" I said with a smile.
"Okay here we go," he said as we pulled out of my drive way.
Riley's POV
"Riley is a loser!" Elliot yelled as he walked past my room.
I walked out of my room and down to the kitchen.
"Elliot smells like gym socks!" I yelled as I pushed him into the wall.
"Why do you guys always have to fight?" My mom said.
"Because she was born," Elliot said as he stuffed his pop tart in his mouth.
"At least I was planed," I laughed.
"Okay you got me there turd," he said as he walked to the kitchen table.
I grabbed a pop tart and followed Elliot out the door.
"What Riley?" He asked.
"I'm riding with you," i said
"I'm riding my bike," he said.
"So I'm going to ride on the pegs," I said.
"Okay," he said as I jumped onto the pegs.
*Flashback*
"Elliot be careful!" My mom yelled.
"I will mom," he said.
"Riley don't copy your brother," my mom said.
"Riley come here!" Elliot yelled.
"What?" I said.
"Stand on these pegs behind me like I did with Josh," Elliot said as he sat on his bike.
"Mommy says not to copy you because you will get hurt," I said.
"Do you wanna hang with us big kids?" Elliot asked.
"Can we go get Maya?" I asked.
"Sure," he said.
*flashback over*
"Riley keep you hair out of my face!" Elliot yelled.
"Keep your face out of my hair!" I yelled.
"Remember the first time we did this?" He asked.
"Yeah. I do," I said with a smile that slowly faded when we arrived at a car accident.
Elliot and I jump d off the bike and walked over to the cop.
"What happened?" Elliot asked.
"Two teens about you age was in an accident," the cop said.
"Did they make it?" I asked
"Yes they are both alive, we can't tell you anymore," the cop said as he walked away.
"this looks like Josh's car," Elliot said.
*ring ring*
"Look the phone is ringing," I said as I reached for the phone.
The screen was shattered so we couldn't tell who was calling.
"Hello?" I said.
"Hey," the voice said.
"Who is this?" I asked.
"It's...."
