A couple of weeks later
After hearing Eddie say, 'I love you,' a smile never left Desiree's face. None of her friends or coworkers saw her without it, and it was all because of Eddie. Well, she always had it because she was finally with someone who loves her for herself and not try to change anything. Even though Desiree and Eddie have been together for the past few months, she has enjoyed taking it slow with him because it feels real. Plus, the way Eddie is so attentive to her in comfort by either playing with her hair, cuddling with her, or peppering her face with a dozen kisses was even better. Life was looking up with her finally, and she couldn't wait to have more.
For the past few weeks, Eddie and Desiree have been working nonstop with their jobs, yet they sill make time for each other, whether it's Eddie visiting her on his lunch break, or Desiree ordering dinner for them at her house. That was their shared rule to make time for each other.
As Desiree thinks about how perfect her relationship is with Eddie, she feels the flutters just like when they first met. The warmth blooming in her chest makes her believe that this is real. So real that she couldn't stop smiling. No relationship gave her this incredible feeling. Mark became the fears that she always had in a relationship, yet with Eddie, it is different. He has become her knight in shining armor to protect her and love her when it gets too hard for her to admit it. She couldn't help but laugh as she thinks back and realizes that Eddie has become the one to bring this fluffy and sweet side of her when she thought it was lost forever.
"Sweetheart?" Eddie's voice booms which caused Desiree to snap out of her trance and put her attention onto her boyfriend, "Are you okay? I lost you there for a second, what's going on in that beautiful head of yours?" He softly spoke as he tucked loose stands of hair that fell in her face. She grabbed his hand and softly kissed his knuckles, "Nothing, I'm just thinking about how perfect you are to me." She smiled while holding his hand up to her chest. He could feel her heart thumping in her chest, he always took note on how fast it would beat when he was close to or touching her.
Eddie smiled the widest he possibly could and wrapped his arms around her, "I am obsessed with you Desiree Lyra Lopez." He whispered as he slowly laid her down on her bed. In the blink of an eye, Desiree was looking at Eddie hovering over her with the most lustful eyes he could have. He wanted her and he thought she looked perfect to him; Her lips, her curves, her soft skin, and how delicate she looks. He took his opportunity and closed the gap between their lips.
Something hit Desiree as she felt Eddie trail the kiss from her lips down to her neck and she reacted instantly by putting her hands on his chest and pushing him off of her. She stood up and walked into the kitchen where she started to pace back and forth, Eddie following shortly after her. Eddie stood a few feet away from her, "Baby what's the matter?" He asked. Desiree didn't want to answer his question, in fact, she ignored him completely which was her defense mechanism.
Her silence was one thing Eddie wasn't going to take from her, so he grew frustrated and finally spoke his mind, "So this is how we're going to act? Okay Desiree, let's play this game." He spoke with his arms crossed over his chest. Desiree scoffed and walked past him, making sure she bumped his shoulder as she passed him, but Eddie grabbed her arm and pulled her back to the conversation, "No, you're gonna stand here and tell me what's wrong with you. Baby, we are not gonna sit here and not communicate feeling with one another, capice?" He sternly spoke. "You can't make me talk if I don't want to, Edward." Desiree rolled her eyes and went to walk away again.
"Jesus fucking Christ, why can't you just open up to me?" He asked in a frustrated tone as he ran his hand through his shaggy and curly hair, not once taking his eyes off of her. She instantly snapped back at him, "Maybe because I'm fucking damaged, Eddie." Her tone was hurt, his face changed and he instantly regretted snapping at her the way he did. Desiree sighs, "Look, anytime I open up to someone they use it against me and then leave." She admits while sitting down on her couch and rested her elbows on her knees.
