It has been a whole week since Mary came back from the hospital. The kids would go to school like normal, I pick them up from school everyday; I would ask them how school was everyday, all they say is "Yeah" or "It was fine" every time I ask. I'm worried for them and the family in general. What happened that day at the amusement park is traumatizing for every one of us. I don't know about Mary, she seems more distant since she came back.
She's a good kid. She never really acted out, not even one time. Same with Edson but he's someone different now. Ever since he was being chased by that man at the haunted house, he would mostly stay in his room or be sitting in the living room spacing out. I was thinking about what I can do to help him. I think he would need therapy. He became more gloomy every second. Ted thinks otherwise, he thinks that he just needs some time to himself.
Mary on the other hand has been acting the same way before she went to the hospital. She did get run over and have seizures and now a bit distant, she is still the same Mary that I knew before all that happened. The dreams that she told me and Ted about didn't make much sense. I would tell her that it could've been a nightmare.
There wasn't much going on now. Everything really has gone back to normal which is truly terrifying. If we experienced something like that our lives shouldn't have gone back to normal. It was almost like it was nothing. Go through hell and come back up to earth? Does not make much sense, I feel nauseous just thinking about it. Might not be able to forget about it, I must admit, I've been staying up all night doing research about that day. Consider me an addict, I've been drinking twice as much coffee and snacks. I just can't let go not until I find out what happened after I left that place.

I was in the kitchen and the kids were at school at the time and Ted went to the grocery store. I am home alone now. The house was quiet, all I could hear was the clock ticking. Other than that it's pretty quiet here, I never really knew that the silence could be so deadly. There wasn't any television in the house except for the computers that Edson has. Mary doesn't have any electronics except for a cellphone. Everyone pretty much has a cellphone to carry around. Ted told me that Ashlyn got the kids cell phones so they could use them whenever they were in trouble. And of course, the phones she got them are old, could say they were from the early 2000's.
Other than using electronics to pass time, there were books and newspapers. Ted mostly reads newspapers while I read paperback books which are cheaper than hardcover books. I also have a laptop that I bought for myself. The only times that I use it is when I don't feel like doing anything, especially reading.
I was leaning against the kitchen counter while holding a mug that was filled with coffee. I actually tried to fall asleep this time, not going to bed three times in a row, but I just couldn't fall asleep. Didn't matter if I counted sheep or kept my eyes close to the point I couldn't open them afterwards. So, I stayed up all night. I pretty much laid there most of the time. All I could hear at the time was Ted snoring beside me.
I walked towards the breakfast table, placing the mug down first before sitting down. I put my head against the cold table. My vision grew blurry after more time went by.
    I finally fell asleep...
