After the full time that was supposed to be spent during the car ride, we finally made it. The entrance of the amusement park had two sides, both sides were used to get in. In the middle part, people would come out from the walls of the amusement park. I felt nervous due to the amount of people, I can just imagine being crushed and stomped on from this amount of people. But I guess this park is pretty popular.
I turned around back to the car, seeing Clarence on the opposite side of the vehicle.
"Want any drinks?" She asked, grabbing a bottle of water for herself.
I nodded, "A bottle of water will do just fine."
She handed me a water bottle, I let out a huffy thanks before I closed the car door. She closed the door and went around the vehicle to meet up with me and dad. Us three stared at the lines that were outlined on the walls of the park. One line was shorter than the other.
Dad huffed, "Let's get this show on the road." He said, walking towards the short line. The line slowly began to grow while we walked over there; the walk wasn't very long, maybe took three minutes to walk there.
By the time we got in line it felt like we were in the very back but we were just in the middle of the line. We were lucky enough just to be in the middle of the other people. There were young adults, older adults, little kids, and very few seniors. They were all in line.
It wasn't very windy but there was a breeze that felt even, it was in the 60's but supposedly felt like the 70's or–that's what the weather app said. I couldn't really understand the app–or anything else that was on the app. Why add the 70's when it was in the 60's? I sometimes wonder that whenever I use the app, I come to the conclusion that even the app wasn't very sure what the actual temperature was. Which is why I stopped trusting the weather app, but I would still check it since it's still pretty accurate.
After a little while longer we made it–we were now on the other side of the walls. We walked here and there, there were simple games to play and a couple of rides; roller coasters with the twirls and the parts where you end upside down. Then we got the classic tea cups. I used to go on that ride when I was a few years younger. There was even that one ride where you start at the very bottom of it and then get lifted to the top and drop back down. That ride gives you the adrenaline real good sometimes. All the rides looked fun but I've ridden all of them. But, there was this one thing still going on which is the haunted house. The haunted house was shaped like a suburban house. Doesn't really make sense for there to be one around especially when it's in the middle of summer.
"Can we do the haunted house?" I asked, turning towards them as they were behind me.
"There's a haunted house still? In the middle of summer?" Dad replied, sounding confused.
I shrugged, "Looks like it." I said, looking at Clarence–wanting to know what she thinks.
"It could be fun–the haunted house I mean." Clarence said.
I nodded, Well dad? What do you think?" I asked while facing dad.
He nodded, "Yeah...Okay." He answered slowly. Almost sounding hesitant.
We walked for a bit more before going to the haunted house. Dad even said that was afraid of haunted houses and regretted going to one when he was younger. Me personally–never went to a haunted house before but my friends from school said that it's a fun experience to go through. I honestly put that to the side when they recommended it–but here I am, getting to go to a haunted house for the first time in a long time.
We went to one of the food stalls–the one we went to had some freshly made lemonade. We got some food and lemonade. We went to find a place to sit–finding an area that was a few minutes away from the food stalls. After we finished eating, we finally went to the haunted house.
"I might call this one out." Dad said; he was covered in sweat. "I will go find something else to do." He smiled softly before he went on his way.
Me and Clarence were the only ones to enter the haunted house. It was like any other haunted house, they weren't very tense like the ones that people on social media went to. There were scare actors here and there; clowns, doctors, zombies, nurses, etc. Nothing new really. But it was a bit weird how these actors are dressed up like clowns–literally. The house looked like a suburban house from the outside so why not go with that theme? Suburban–people dressing up like in the 90's? But more scary.
At one point me and Clarence splitted up, not intentionally. One of the scare actors scared Clarence–her scream made me jump. I continued on my own until I found a room with walls–covered in mirrors; some were smashed and the glass was laying on the floor. In the middle of the room there was a wheelchair with one of the scare actors on it, their back facing me.
"Hello?" I called out, "You do know that this whole haunted house thing is unnecessary?" I said.
There wasn't a response except for a high pitched giggling coming from the actor. The giggling gave me goosebumps–I stayed quiet, hearing the giggling turning into laughter. Behind me there were heavy footsteps creeping up–I didn't dare to turn around until they were breathing on my neck. Their face... It was that man, the man with the melted skin. What are they doing here? I start backing up–being inside of the room a bit more. The man started walking closer towards me–at some point I booked it, I went around the scare actor. Apparently what I did made the scare actor lose its character, the actor ended up turning around seeing the man with the melted skin.
"What the hell?" They said, sounding confused. "You're not one of the scare actors."
"Oh, what the hell man?!" The actor's voice grew louder.
I was still running away from the man with the melted skin. But I heard screaming in the distance. I didn't dare to turn around until I found Clarence–But I couldn't find her anywhere. The scare actors that I ran past were confused but didn't bother to lose their character. The scare actors started chasing after me–a killer clown and a zombie. The killer clown was holding a chainsaw–moving faster than the zombie.
I ran into a dead end, behind me was the killer clown– with the high pitched laughter. The zombie was a bit more behind the clown, but behind the zombie was the man with the melted skin. The actor dressed up as a zombie turned around–seeing the man–the actor's eyes were wide. The man with the melted skin was holding a bloody knife. He kept walking towards this direction, he slammed the zombie actor's head into the wall. The killer clown finally turned around–losing character at last.
"What the hell do you think you're doing?" The clown said, glaring at the man. "Don't remember you being a scare actor.."
"He's not one of the actors." I finally said, "He's a killer and he's coming for me."
The killer clown faced me–before he could say anything else he was done for.
I started running once again–my chest felt heavy while my head was all fuzzy. I kept running and running down the hallway that had twists and turns. I eventually fell down onto the cold floor; the floor wasn't wood but similar to concrete. I felt my knees bleed, my pants were all ruined. I lifted myself up–huffing and puffing; my chest felt like it was on fire. I looked around my surroundings–I was lost. I was still in the twisted hallways that I first ran into. I took out my phone, hoping to call 911. Luckily enough I was able to do exactly that.I started walking in the hallways–almost limping due to my blood-covered knees; It still hurts and I can even feel my pants stick to my scratches. I stayed on the phone like I was told–heavily breathing into the speaker. I hardly said a word after telling them all about there being a man with melted skin inside of a haunted house coming after me. For me personally, it was a lot to handle. Just thinking about it gives me the chills. Why me? Is it because I saw him on the other side of the fence that day? Nobody believed me even if I told anyone. But maybe after the police show up I can tell them.
I gained the courage to speak up about that day.
"Hey, uhm. I have something to say."
"What is it?"
"That day when a teenage girl was found dead by her own parents. You know who I'm talking about?" I asked
"I do."
"I saw the killer."
"What?"
I sighed, "I saw the killer, he was on the other side of the fence when I went outside." I took a couple of deep breaths. "He's a man who has melted skin and he's coming after me now."
They stayed quiet for a while, "Hello? Hello?!" I took my phone off of my ear, it disconnected. I cursed under my breath. I guess I'm on my own now.
The haunted house felt empty–where are all the scare actors? The halls are covered in fog, fake spiderwebs, etc. Did some other scare actors get killed too? As the hallways twist and turn even more, the more I get cautious. After a while, I found a door that eventually led to a different room. Inside of the room there were more doors. There were three doors–three options. I started opening the doors, starting from the one on the very left. As soon as I opened the door, a body fell on top of me. It was a real body–a dead body. It was covered in blood. I pushed the body off to the side to get a better look at it. It was one of the actors. All of a sudden, music started playing the starting lyrics were "Once upon a time"
I started panicking, I felt my head crumbling down, eyes started to water terribly, my chest grew even heavier. I lifted myself up, feeling a sudden strike of dizziness. I went over to open the second door. Another body fell over the floor, once again covered in blood. Last but not least the last door.
I walked towards the door slowly.
"A little bunny hopped away" the sounds of the radio grew louder...
I took a deep breath
"Tip toe, tip toe, there it goes" and louder...
I was there, my hand on the doorknob.
"He hops, he drops." and louder...
I twisted the doorknob slowly, my body covered in sweat and blood.
"He twists and turns." and louder...
When I got to see what was inside–I gasped.
"He rolled and died, never to be seen again!~"The music overwhelmed me, my mind went blank almost like I was hypnotized...
