Strangely enough, Kristin invited me over to her place when I was supposed to do my schoolwork that I couldn't do before since I was in the hospital at the time. And of course Kristin still treats me like trash, like I'm the worthless one. What's even worse is that her friends are Her as well. If this ends up being a slumber party then call me out, because I can care less about all this and I'm better off doing my schoolwork instead of hanging out with rich kids who have no future ahead of them.
"And so what I was saying is that Justin..."
Here we go again, I thought, rolling my eyes. More boy talk after just talking about fashion sense is such an eyesore.
"...broke up with me and said that I was way too clingy which is obviously ain't true." One of the girls said, everyone else was nodding their head—some were doing their nails or putting each other's hair up. Me personally, I was just there, I didn't want to be here—inside a nice two-story house that is apparently bigger than my house, we literally live on the same street.
"What about you Mary? Do you have any boy problems at all?" Another girl asked. Kristin looked at the girl and then at me, she was about to say something but before she got to I answered.
"No, I don't but there is this one guy who is obsessed with me but doesn't show it. Always picking fights with me." I stared at Kristin the whole time as I was describing her and not a random guy.
All the girls nodded their heads except for Kristin, guess she caught on already. What a shame.
"He must really like you.." One girl covered her mouth almost as if she was surprised.
"I know right, he always leaves me so confused." I played along, noticing that Kristin was giving me the death stare. If I'm gonna be honest I would say that Kristins reaction is quite amusing but the attitude really needs to change.
"What about you Kristin? Any boy problems on your end?" A girl asked.
Kristin looked at her and eventually answered the question. "No, well—there is this one guy who always gets in my way. He really just ruins the mood, especially mine. He's so annoying." She then looked at me, raising one eyebrow.
One girl noticed that we were talking about each other but didn't speak up. It soon got awkward, the silence was unbearable but I somehow was able to manage. One girl eventually started to talk about her new heels that she got recently as an early birthday present. The whole time me and Kristin were looking at each other. Could say that we were arguing by using our eyes. I soon smirked, crossing my arms. Kristins eyes started to get watery as she was having a hard time not blinking.
She soon blinked and excused herself. She got off her bed and went inside of her bathroom that was only a few steps away—she had her own bathroom.
I sighed, blinking rapidly as it was getting a bit difficult for me to stare but thankfully Kristin left the room. I rubbed my eyes as they were watery.
"Can I paint your nails?" A girl asked me, holding some nail polish.
I nodded my head, "Sure, haven't gotten my nails painted for a while so a good makeover for them would be great. As long as you're doing it for free of course." I smiled softly.
"Of course!" She giggled, getting everything set up. While she was painting my nails Kristin came out of the bathroom and went outside of the room entirely. After a few minutes she came back with a bottle of grape juice and some wine glasses.
"Us girls deserve to live in luxury and get to drink grape juice before we actually have the real deal." Kristin says, placing down the wine glasses on one of her nightstands. She poured some grape juice in every glass, making sure each glass had a similar amount. She would then pass all the glasses to everyone including me.
"Hey Kristin, how come I don't see your parents around?" One of the girls suddenly asked.
Kristin seemed a bit surprised by the question but was able to answer right away, "they are out, I guess. My parents are divorced, I no longer see my mom anymore and my dad he has been hiding in the shadows." She sighed, she had a poker face but you can tell that it's not an easy topic for her.
"Oh right, what's your middle name again?" Another girl asked.
"What's with these questions?" Kristin giggled, "Well my middle name is frost. Weird I know." She smiled softly.
"So Kristin Frost Everton?" I said, tilting my head slightly.
Kristin nodded her head, "Wow how pretty." A girl said, "My middle name is Sarah." The girl smiled softly as there was some disappointment displayed on her face.
I took a few sips of the grape juice with my free hand as the other was currently getting painted by one of the girls.
"Alright, other hand." She suddenly says. I switched out my hands, now holding the glass with my right hand.
"A slumber party would be nice, right girls?" Kristin said. Everyone either nodded their heads or actually gave a proper answer.
"But none of us brought any clothes." A girl said.
"Oh don't worry about that." Kristin says, "I got plenty of clothes that I can share with everyone. Mainly pajamas. We all seem to be the same size."
I finished my grape juice and was immediately offered some more by Kristin. And of course I accepted the offer and got some more grape juice. The grape juice is pretty good—tastes almost sweet but there was a medicinal feel to it along with an earthy taste.
If I was honest, I think this is the first day that I feel so relaxed. I felt like I was kept hostage while at the hospital. Before that I always worked hard and finished all the schoolwork that we were assigned—hardly got the chance to complete any of it during school hours since classes were pretty short and not having much time in the study hall was pretty stupid.
"All done!" The girl said, putting away the nail polish. I looked at my nails and the colors suited my taste. My nails were painted perfectly and there were some patterns here and there. Some nails were half one color and the other half a different color.
"How pretty!" I said, admiring the talent of the girl. "Thank you for painting them." I said, smiling softly.
"It's my pleasure!" She said going to do another girl's hair.
I leaned back against the chair, enjoying the grape juice a bit more than I should. It I was really honest, I never actually had grape juice before meaning that its my first time drinking something different. After a while, everyone was getting ready to go to bed. Kristin was handing out some pajamas to everyone, especially me. I didn't know Kristin could act like this—her being such a bitch was something that I was pretty much used to so her acting differently today is a bit strange, or at least I think so.
Everyone took turns to use the bathroom to change. Some would remove hair pins or hair ties, others would either drink some grape juice or go on the internet. After everyone changed, we would call dibs on where to sleep for the night. Everyone chose the bed except for me, I chose the couch. I didn't want to share the bed with other people especially when I don't really know them well. Yeah they're nice but no thanks.
I mostly stared at the ceiling, listening in on the whispered conversations and the giggling. After a short amount of time, I closed my eyes and fell asleep without really trying—I didn't want to go to sleep so soon, but my eyes were giving up on me.
