There was something dark twisting in Felix's head, a voice whispering violence and rage. Who was Elena to say all that shit about him? Who were Damon and Stefan to ask him for help? What had they ever done for him?
Felix sees a flash of Damon and him lying in bed together, blood staining both their lips and a peace Felix had started to crave washing over him. The young psychic shook his head as if physically shaking the thoughts from his head. The rain was hitting his car as he sat still in the long driveway that led up to his house. Something akin to unease was joining the mixture of emotions swirling around his brain, a voice whispering for him to turn around and return to the Salvatores. He ignored it. Instead, he turned his gaze to the forest and woods around him, his breath catching his throat at the wooden doorway standing alone between the trees. There was a scream in the wind, almost drowned out by the sounds of rain, and a sharp pang of fear forcing Felix from his stupor before he slammed his foot onto the gas pedal and continued his drive home, albeit at a much quicker pace than before. He was not opening any more doors for Damon and Stefan Salvatore.
His house was dark when he came home; his mother was out with Caroline's mom for lunch, a tradition the two ladies had done since they were teenagers. The remainder of the Forbes family makes the teen think of Caroline. He hadn't been seeing her as much recently. She started dating Matt and was out of town for the weekend to visit her dad.
"I'm failing, aren't I," Felix muttered, running a hand through his hair as he looked out the back door and the pond in the middle. He hadn't asked for these powers, but somehow everything he did seemed to make them grow. The more he used them, the harder they were to control, and unless he wanted to be reliant on a vampire for the rest of his life, there was nothing else he could do.
"Fuck, what am I even doing with myself. And Damon," Felix sighed, shutting his eyes as he thought of the vampire he hated and wanted before his thoughts turned towards a different vampire, Tommy, who used him. "I should have known," Felix muttered before he made his way towards the kitchen, deciding that he would cook if there were nothing else he could do this weekend.
He flicked the burner on, placing a pot of water onto it before turning to grab some noodles and then veggies from the fridge. Felix held a head of broccoli, examining it for a moment before slicing it. The blade sliced down onto his finger, blood spurting everywhere... the vision shoved its way into Felix's head just as the knife was about to press down. Heavy breathing echoed through the house as he stared down at the vegetable and his finger, which apparently was about to be chopped off. "What the fuck," he muttered, slowly putting the knife down and opting to break the broccoli apart with his hands.
A hissing came from the stove as water began to spill over. Sure enough, as soon as Felix made his way back over to the stove, the water was boiling and coming precariously close to overflowing. "I can't decide if this is helpful or not," Felix said, turning the stove down as he poured the noodles in, ignoring the headache slowly creeping its way in.
His phone was ringing on the counter, and Felix knew it was Damon without glancing at it. He ignored it.
Felix put the broccoli onto a pan, allowing it to sizzle and cook, before putting some already cut onions left over from the night before.
His phone rang again.
The noodles were done. The vegetables needed another minute or so. Felix poured the noodles into the pan, listing to the satisfying sizzle of water dissipating.
