Over Felix's eighteen years of life, he had a lot of dreams, not visions, but true dreams. He dreamt of leaving this small town, of grabbing Tyler and Caroline's hands and just running, forcefully dragging them from the small town that judged them and put them in moulds.
Tyler and him could have been together in a different town; Caroline would never have had to pretend to be so perfect, to put on a front for everyone she met. They would be happy.
When Felix was younger, and his nightmares had first started, he had dreamt that it was just the town that was causing it, and if he were to leave, he would escape the visions.
Felix wanted to be a middle school art teacher. He was never truly sure where that dream came from, but one day he knew he wanted to do that. Maybe it was all the children's art his mother had received over the years.
His mother was also in his dreams. He wanted them to sell their big old house and for her to move somewhere warm, by the ocean, and away from the memories of a husband who never loved her right. Caroline used to tell him that Liz could come along to, and the two mothers could find themselves a little beach house together. The two teens knew their moms loved each other, loved each other the way their husbands should have loved them, but maybe it was the small town that stopped them, but they never acted on it.
Maybe it wasn't too late; Felix hoped it wasn't. He wanted his family to be happy. Maybe, after all this, he could leave. Move to the west coast far, far away from supernatural creatures trying to hunt him down, far from vampires and wolves... or, well, other than Caroline. She would come with him in this dream. Felix watched as Mystic Falls entered his view before frowning as Klaus pulled over just outside of the town's main strip.
"Felix, I am trusting you to keep up your end of the bargain, but I can't say I trust your little vampire boyfriend not to try and find a way out of our deal, so I am letting you out here, and when the time comes we will see each other again," Klaus said, his usual evil grin spreading onto his face and Felix resisted the urge to question the vampire further. He just wanted to see his mom, "Try not to disappoint me, killer."
Felix nodded his head once, snagging his bag from the back seat before practically leaping out of the car, breathing in the mountain air of their small Virginia town. Part of him realized he should have asked if Elijah and Sebastian were already in the town, but maybe it would be better, easier the less he knew.
Mystic Falls looked the same as it always did like Felix was stepping back in time, a time before he promised to help out a psychotic vampire, and a time before he had killed for that same creature.
"Should have asked for a phone," he muttered as he walked through the crisp air, refusing to watch where Klaus drove off to, but instead keeping his eyes on the street in front of him, on the familiar buildings he knew his whole life welcoming him home. He never realized just how close they all were, though, how much like a prison it was or a tomb.
"Can Bonnie do one of those witchy tracking spells?" He asks after a moment.
"Not without something Klaus owns," Stefan paused, "Have you gotten through to Felix's mom yet? Any word?"
Damon's hand clenched, "No, she keeps saying he's in New York, but he hasn't answered any of our calls, and I heard that he's been ignoring Caroline too. Those two used to be attached at the hip, so it doesn't make any sense. Plus, if he had seen what was happening here, wouldn't he have tried to get back? I mean, Caroline got turned into a vampire; I feel like that would be enough to bring him back if he was in New York."
"Yeah, what about that guy who was with Elijah? I haven't seen him at all since they first got here," Stefan said-
"Felix?" joyfelixholyshithe'sokay.
